Any place with extremely wealthy students will have cocaine use OP.

I have a friend whose daughter died because she used cocaine laced with fentanyl. OD.

She is broken bc of what happened to her daughter.

Fentanyl is in everything. This is not the time to experiment with drugs. And any rich boy frat that’s normalizing hard drug use like cocaine needs to disappear.

It always amazes me how naive DCUM moms are. There are now and always have been drugs everywhere. When did you all become your grandmothers?

Yes. Lots of smoking going on at the Ivy my kid attends. Vaping is really out but cigarettes are very in.

Cigarettes are awesome when you're a student.

-- Ivy grad who hasn't smoked in years but remembers them fondly.

My college kid and high schooler are nerdy introverts who surround themselves with other nerdy introverts and neither go to parties, so they haven't seen any of it with their own eyes, but I can well believe it exists. Exposure just depends on which circles you move in...

So the choice is cocaine cowboy vs. incel? I’m not sure which I’d prefer for my kid.

You're just attacking people for no reason on Thanksgiving weekend? Incels are males who hate women and blame them for their lack of dating success. My DAUGHTER is not an incel, thank you very much, and my son is the sweetest person I know.

What a moron.

There aren’t involuntarily celibate females that blame men for, well, everything?

My ivy kid has encountered kids doing it at a few parties and reports that high school classmates were doing it in the bathroom at a large gathering of kids when home this week. We've also heard of other high school classmates doing it at their colleges. All top 20 schools.

I knew it was out there but this is a little close to home. Have you heard the same? My kid is never quite in the cool crowd but is liked by everyone and gets invited to some things. If they are seeing this then there must be a lot more drug use going on.

Two kids at two different ivies, no cocaine ever seen
Rumors of it yes. Marijuana is around, though illegal on campus, still present. The majority do not use marijuana, maybe 1/4-1/3 The majority do consume alcohol at least once a week, though not drinking is no big deal.
The HS friend with the cocaine problem went to UVA where the frat got him addicted. no issues before college.

Oh, you are SO sophisticated. Let the rest of us be. We were not snorting in college.

Neither was I but I realize that coke occurs on college campuses.

I never encountered cocaine in college. Call me naive but it wasn't something I knew went on.

I went back to school for nursing and worked in Baltimore city in my 20s and treated a million addicts from the streets of Baltimore but no students and only a few 20-something professionals. So again, despite working directly in a major trauma center I wasn't exposed to any significant college student or young professional cocaine use.
