Try being regular middle class or poor at a good school. Also staying away from frats. Should work.

This. Rich kids can have anything they want and also know that their rich, connected parents will get them out of trouble.

Why do cocaine when weed is comparatively safe and available now? Is the feeling that much more amazing? I’m actually wondering

The earlier reports said that 4 unconscious students were found on the lawn of the house and 3 more were brought out from inside the house. All got Narcan and were transported by EMS and hospitalized. Seems worthwhile to have a conversation with your kids and make sure they have access to Narcan.

Wow, that’s scary. Providence doesn’t have Greek life, but it’s a pretty big party school. My son applied but it was so expensive (for us). I’m not naive, I know there are drugs everywhere and I’ve been pounding the dangers of it into my kids’ heads. Thank goodness those 7 students are ok and hopefully it was a huge wake up call for them and their friends.

The use of Narcan suggests these are actually Opioid overdoses - meaning the cocaine they used was most likely tainted by fentanyl.

Honestly, you have to be an ill-informed dumbass to use random coke from random people these days. Every parent needs to give their kids a little real world drug education today. This is an extremely dangerous time for experimentation.

Yes- it has been reported as cocaine overdoses but sounds like the students were using cocaine that was likely laced with fentanyl. This is not uncommon these days and agree that this is an extremely dangerous time to experiment.
