Those are the biggest impacted schools.

It was always kinda weird that they included Damascus in the name of the one study because it was expanded, but not Northwood despite it also being expanded.

Will anything about the new options be released before the info session this evening? The website said the interactive map tool will be updated "the week of Dec 1." I can see how that might take extra time, but they should have the articulation charts, etc. available, right?

who knows. they're bad at communicating and they really don't care about our feedback. they will do what they want.

it should all be online now, but it isn't because they suck

The previous two times they didn't release anything until the first meeting started.

What specifically do you mean by "equity" here? What do you think MCPS is doing to promote equity?

Basically it means balancing the socioeconomic factor as best they can.

I don't think they are trying to do that in any meaningful way. Their proposals mostly increase segregation by race, ethnicity and family income.

So whatever they illustrate for the WJ/Woodward boundary is likely the contender.

It’s not an issue for Northwood or Einstein. Families will just move or go private. They already have a reduced course offerings that will get a further reduction when the staffing hits happen. MCPS and the other schools are deliberately doing this.

Northwood will be getting much, much larger, and will be getting many more students and staff.

Not according to the superintendent. He said with enrollment these days, Northwood didn't need to expand.

So will the new maps go live at 6:30 for the first boundary meeting?

When MCPS wants to justify anything, they say it must be done for equity.
