You missed the point. 30% FARMS is not going to be closely resemble any W school so saying that it will be another W school is just misleading. Some peopole will be fine with 30% FARMS rate, some will be unhappy and some will freak out. For com[arison, WJ will be 15%. You may think what's the big deal in 15 vs 30 then some one may think what's the big deal vs 30 vs 45. But it's a huge difference. If you are in school with 60% FARMS then all these numbers will look good to you.

Why is that a huge difference? What is huge? Ultimately what matters is academic reputation. And yes, it is correlated with FARMS, but there are other factors - classes, teachers, neighborhood, direction. Academic reputation is not fixed. In this particular case, WJ is currently 18% FARMS and if you get moved to Woodward, it will most likely start at 27-28%. It is not earth shattering change. If your child can only succeed if school's FARMS is in single digits, maybe there is a problem with your child.

My one child went to attend top 20 in STEM from 50+ % FARMS. But that kind of thing is not here or there. 50% jump in FARMS is quite big for most families. I wouldn't call it earth shaterring persponally.

Right in your reply, you are cirting single digit, then WJ in mid teens and Woodward near 30%. That's a big range and you are treating it as same. It's not same by any stretch of imaginations.

If their kids are smart they will be in mostly AP classes with other smart kids and wouldn't even interact with the others.

Except where there aren't enough of these offered. Knowing that this is the case elsewhere nearby but not at WJ as they currently experience is why Woodward-bound areas are pleading that MCPS ensure effective duplication of the WJ experience. Unfortunately, they aren't advocating for that beyond their own borders...

At WJ and Woodward there are or will be plenty. At schools like our, no and t sucks but we make the best of a bad situation.

Taylor is going to present his own version. It’s been clear all along. And he knows it has to pass because he’s wrapped it up with the program study. Unless there are significant monetary barriers, he is going to do it. And I bet money he leaves MCPS befofe it’s fully implemented d in the HS like he did at Stafford

No, the council won't - the money isn't there and Taylor's multiple unforced errors (A CIP proposal containing multiple projects all dependent on a bum's rush closing of SSIMS) means the council will look more closely at Taylor's proposal.

The council gave him more money for this year and isn't holding him accountable for the mismanagement happening on his watch.
