Reopen on Thursday or Friday

Could be a few Republican defectors who vote no, but some dems will cross the aisle to vote yes. Overall, I'd be shocked if it doesn't pass by late tomorrow. My bet is it passes by late evening and Trump signs immediately for an on-time open Thursday AM.

Nobody is whinging. It’s called boundaries. I’m not doing a single thing to prepare in advance. On Thursday I will wake up, check email, then head in at an unhurried pace. This probably means getting in a bit late if the news doesn’t come out until late Weds, but I’m fine with that.

Coming in late as long as you have a variable or maxiflex schedule is fine, otherwise you will need to take leave. Anything else would be time card fraud, and THAT I would recommend against in current DOGE era, though I guess you have till Jan 30.

No duh, its called SICK leave and I will need it

Because I will be sick to my stomach with worry and anxiety because I feel like a villain - puking my guts out for Russ. That qualifies for S/L, no?

The sooner we open the sooner those of us who have worked the whole time can get paid. Figure out how you will get to work after your 40 day break; i suspect you are a MAGA troll trying to make Feds look bad, I sure hope so.

Thank you. I was hoping for Monday.

Not happening. It’ll be Thursday.

I have a clean conscience. Flame away, I don’t GAF. the new social contract of the DOGE era is pretty clear. I know I will have Trump favored industry breathing down my neck to get unfair prioritization and I have zero compunction about getting to work at 10:30am the first day after furlough.

It's not your 90 minutes. It's your not caring or taking a moment to appreciate what the compromises that led to your being able to go in to serve the public and get all your money cost others.

+1. This is EXACTLY why feds have a horrible reputation and why, many, like me (not MAGA but served in two agencies), want to see a reduction in workforce and waste.

I'm an NP and I'll be on time Thursday, but come on. We've just been told we're not needed for 40 days, may never be paid, and under constant threat of RIFs. Many of our deadlines are way in the rear view mirror at this point. It's a little hard to be motivated not to lose an hour after SIX WEEKS LOST. Even you're saying you want us fired, as if not showing sufficient gratitude is somehow evidence of waste that should cost us our jobs.

I want everyone to get paid, doesn’t mean I enjoyed my “time off” and the stress is real. The health effects are real.

Well even as someone who worked, I had doubts we would be paid or how long this would go on, meanwhile burning gas everyday thanks RTO. I mean, T has stiffed his own vendors many times, saying that the work done wouldn’t be paid is hardly unprecedented

If the government opens this week, I am taking leave. I left the area.

I’m floating in for a few hrs Thursday and Friday, showing face and leaving. Time card fraud fine whatever.

Some of us are contractors who won't be getting back pay. During the entire month of October, I worked five hours. I personally will be in as early as I can on the first day the government opens.

As part of our orderly shutdown, my agency told us we were to report the business day after the lapse ended. If Trump signs a funding bill at 12:01 am on Thursday, the next business day would be Friday. However, I would report on Thursday.

With the RIF language in the bill, any idea how long those of use who were part of the shutdown mass layoffs are reinstated?

So many Feds need to be Riffed. I am boggled by how lazy and entitled some of you are. Not all but many.

An entire 40 days off and you are complaining about showing up on time! Shame on you.

Fine. But that gives me more time. Thanks for your non-answer.
