Yes but PANIC SETS IN Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, Todd Blanche, and others, plan on holding an EMERGENCY MEETING today on the Epstein Files as the discharge vote nears. Rep. Boebert will reportedly be there. It appears there is an all hands on deck effort to try to prevent a vote on the Epstein Files. |
| How many of you are trying to figure out how to fly home given that we are still in the midst of all these flight cancellations? |
On my flight home right now! So far so good |
I vaguely remember another very short shutdown - just a couple of hours - due to someone filibustering something. The president didn’t sign the cr until 10 am or something like that. There was a whole flurry of emails about when we had to come in and what to do with our Timesheets for those extra 1-2 hours we weren’t supposed to be working that am. |
| The letters we got for furlough gives us 4 business hours. So if it’s signed at 11 PM, and our normal workday starts at 8 AM, we have until noon to arrive at work. |
| The a—holes have had 6 weeks to get their sh*t together and they couldn’t make the vote and the signing happen at a reasonable time of day? They are the worst. |
|
I had a subordinate come in early to complete his orderly shutdown and went home, as he was instructed to. I called him as he was pulling into his driveway and told him 1) the agency was now funded; and 2) he had to come back into the office or take leave. Hilarity ensued. |
| HHS sent out an email stating that staff “must report to their official duty station Thursday, Nov 13 if the bill is signed into law tonight or tomorrow morning.” |
My boss asked us to all hang out in the office and not touch our computers until the President signed. |
So stupid. being required to “hang around” is working. |
Did they send it to the government email addresses? Because that's what happened in another Department. |
Haven’t received anything yet. |
NP, and me too. While the shutdown has been hard for many, and I am not attempting to diminish the anguish, for me, it reinforced that I don't need half the stuff I buy and could live on far less. I really hope they offer VERA to my group. I am 48 with 27 years of service. The Spring VERA was only offered to 30+ years. |
I remember this too. I think the 2018/2019 shutdown ended in the middle of a work week as well. |
