While he starves Americans, Trump throws a pre-Depression themed Halloween party with half naked showgirls.

No, that's not it at all. They are well aware. They just don't care.

I say we let MAGA defend this. Let them spin themselves into cognitive dissonance oblivion. Everyone else sees this for what it is.

Have you called your senator asking them to vote yes to reopen the government and issue food stamps? Are you unhappy because they let their kids trick or treat on Halloween? Or is it just Trump?

Pulling at straws? Even if the government was open and functioning as normal, this party would be tacky as hell.

How individuals celebrate a holiday is not my business. It’s not my idea of an enjoyable event, but there is nothing illegal about it.

What is disgusting is the democrats celebrating and partying while their refusal to reopen the government is leaving millions of federal employees not being paid, and our most vulnerable losing their food stamps.

Lady, President Trump as a Christian should not be having a big party with naked dancing girls. I don't give a rat's ass this is the 21st Century and we aren't supposed to find nudity scandalous. Guess what. It's trashy and scandalous.

Full stop.

There's no shaming the shameless. What are you going to DO about it?

did tax payers really pay for the party? or just the security

Does it matter?

There wouldn't be a cost for security if there wasn't party the President was attending at his private club in Florida while the government is shut down.

Besides, isn't the Republican story that Trump is amazing and selfless and rich? Why doesn't HE pay for his security while he's out partying and save us all a couple of bucks.

Absolutely nothing surprising here to anyone including the people that voted for him. He's honestly very transparent and out in the open. People are just fine with it - voters, Republican members of Congress. That's the only shocking part, not his behavior which has been obvious for his 10+ years of running and being President.

The male party of rapists do not care what anyone says. All these kids going missing like it’s the rapture and we wonder why… because nobody cares. They still haven’t found the last two campers in Texas, NC has not been rebuilt since the storms nor has any other place. The air is unfit ( my asthma has been killing me), people are without food, electricity and schools are mediocre. And, nobody cares. I am so sick of the carelessness.

That video is weird. I don’t care who paid for the party. It’s weird that our president is throwing a party and being entertained by showgirls. Conservatives once cared about character but that went out of fashion right alongside the constitution.

Think about how trashy this is….do you think any of the Country Club Republicans would welcome such a person into their social circle?

-Three times divorced
-Five children with three different baby mamas
-Current wife was in soft core porn and very likely a foreign escort
-Filed for bankruptcy half a dozen times
-Lots of rumors that he had sex with underaged girls

Would “conservatives” ever elect a black or Latino man with these features to the Presidency?

Their decadence is insane.

And why does that standard only apply to Trump and the Republicans?

Presidents should not be running businesses on the side. I remember when Jimmy Carter had to sell his peanut farm before assuming the Presidency, to avoid a conflict of interest.

Republicans are responsible for the shutdown and for reopening the government. They control all three branches, but can’t even fulfill the most basic functions of government. Why has the House been out of session for a month? Why won’t Mike Johnson seat Adelita Grijalva?

And why do you capitalize Republicans, but not Democrats?

Carter didn’t sell the farm, he put it in a blind trust. But otherwise points well taken.

New York high society tolerated but never truly accepted him. They regarded him as a bridge-and-tunnel guy, a New Jersey casino operator, a short-fingered vulgarian with tacky gold plated toilets. That may partly explain his vendetta against cities and coastal elites.

True, I misspoke. He did end up having to sell it off after his presidency, mainly due to three years of drought. He also sold 100 shares of common stock that he owned before becoming President.

W sold off his stake in the Texas Rangers before becoming President, and the Clintons dissolved their blind trust and converted it to cash to avoid any conflict of interest. Trump is thumbing his nose at the Ethics in Government act.

This. He knows they rejected him. He’s bad news and bad to have any dealings with. My guess is they all wanted him to stay the heck away from their daughters, too. Edith Wharton would have had a field day with him in one of her novels.
