| Is anybody surprised that a politician, from either party is tone deaf? Today it’s Trump yesterday it was Newsome and I’m sure there will be many more in the future. |
| Whats worse - ignoring the 60 votes needed or blaming the Mar-A-Lago opening party on the shutdown? |
What’s worse is all the people who will not be able to afford health insurance! |
| The left loves to give free healthcare to illegals. The ACA isnt affordable and broken like this board |
Well the GOP has had years to come up with a new plan. In fact, I believe Trump said he would have a new plan in two weeks during his first term. |
This is a bad example. From what I’ve seen of Washington Golf, yes 100% someone with these attributes would be welcome there with open arms. I assume it’s the same for other local country clubs. The country club set is not the most upstanding group of men. |
There are not illegals on the ACA. |
To your first point: Undocumented (illegal) immigrants are not eligible to enroll in health coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces or receive federal subsidies. Eligibility for ACA coverage requires a person to be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or a lawfully present non-citizen. "Lawfully present" immigrants who can enroll in ACA plans (and may qualify for financial assistance) include: -Lawful permanent residents (green card holders) -Refugees and asylees -Survivors of domestic violence and trafficking -Individuals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) -Citizens of the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau (COFA migrants) -Most other individuals with a qualified legal immigration status To your second point, the ACA was passed because the previous healthcare system was financially unsustainable for the country and reform was needed. Obama had two choices, either Universal as most of the rest of the world uses, or the ACA, which is based on the GOP Heritage Foundation reform plan implemented in Massachussetts by GOP Governor Mitt Romney. In an effort to gain bi-partisanship, Obama went with the latter. The GOP cannot come up with a new plan because the ACA IS their plan. So if the GOP doesn't like it, what are the suggesting as an alternative? We have been awaiting the answer to that question for years. |
The GOP loves to lie. |
Today would be a good day for the GOP to use the nuclear option and side step filibuster again. And Hey, it’s what Trump wants. Senate GOP can end this shutdown today |
|
Why didnt 21 states (all Democrat controlled) provide the data on who is receiving snap? I know why...
Meanwhile, so far what SNAP recipients are saying: - “I’m having to use my own cash now to buy food.” - “I couldn’t go out this weekend because I had to pay for food.” - “I have to be aware of the cost of items before putting them in the cart.” - “I’m buying store brands and cutting coupons.” Millions of people discovered adulting overnight. |
I can’t wait for the day when people like you figure out what you voted for. On that day, I’ll gladly point you to the end of the breadline. |
Stop lying Stop with the gas lights Where is the Republican plan to replace the ACA they have had years to create a plan so shut the hell up you complete and utter garbage |
Imagine all the Republican wet dreams that can become reality if they just nuke the filibuster. Privatize social security Turn title I and IDEA funding into national vouchers and give to families already paying for private school Feed more agencies to woodchipper Call your GOP senator today and tell them to nuke the filibuster just like dear leader has demanded. |
| Right? Gut the filibuster and watch them decimate the entire social safety net, pull of the ladder for them and their billionaire pals, and leave the rest of us to starve. Sounds like a great plan i your goal is civil unrest and the destruction of America. |
