I do believe MTG is going to run for president. And she is positioning herself accordingly. She sees the writing on the wall. Donald Trump and Mike Johnson are anvils for the GOP. And she is the first to break from the Trump garbage. I think she'll do well when it gets to the primaries, especially against Vance. She's not an idiot and I wouldn't underestimate her.

MTG is being smart. She never should have aligned with Trump, but it’s better to get out sooner than later. VP Pence, who I think rose to his highest level of incompetence, found religion after three years and eleven months of Trump madness. Yes, he tried to stop the election steal and was on the right side of January 6th, but his Trump association was political suicide. MTG is wise to make her break now.

I just saw her on CNN. Don’t agree with with her on much politically, but it was a refreshing interview and a stark contrast to the lies, hate and vitriol talk coming from the WH.

She knows she has no chance at th eprwidency. She is, though, looking to become the Speaker of the House.

Vance will be in the same position in 2028 as Harris was in 2024. He'll be the VP of a very unpopular sitting POTUS struggling to disassociate from the unpopular POTUS in order to have a chance in a general election. MTG has the flexibility to disassociate from the very unpopular POTUS well ahead a time.

I don't think that's the point, though. The discussion is about why she's doing it given that she may have been the most crazed MAGA out there. She rode Trump's coattails into the national conversation, and now she's doing a 180 degree pivot. It seems like she's getting in on the Trump and MAGA demise action early. If she had correct political instincts to attach herself to the MAGA crazies before, what does it mean now.
