Dating at gender-lopsided universities

Pretty much any tech focused school that isn't super selective. Rose Hulman, RPI, RIT (MIT and similar are selective enough to maintain 50/50).

I went to an engineering school like this as a woman. The split was roughly 70m/30w. There weren't an appreciable number of gay guys, but there were a large percentage of "gamer guys" who never did anything besides class and gaming. That probably sucked up about 15% of the male student body. As a woman, I did find it really uncomfortable not to have a boyfriend in that environment. I'd be asked out and hit on dozens of times in a day. When I was known to have a boyfriend, that dialed back and guys were just friends. But as soon as I was single, the floodgates opened. It wasn't one person so it wasn't harassment, but it did feel a bit like I was being harassed since I couldn't avoid the attention anywhere.

I don't know what it's like now but when I was in college (04 to 08) at a place like this it was very rare to get "asked out." I had two female roommates and neither of them ever dated or hooked up all 4 years of college. I knew flashier girls who got hookups but nothing lasting.
I was in a male-leaning major and what happened more than once was that I would get a Facebook message from some classmate expressing interest. But they would never do it in person. There would be a big online flirtation and then nothing. Very wimpy.

I'd avoid Northwestern based on their mailers alone. It's like direct marketing to women who aren't interested in dating. One mailer featured a group of eighteen mostly attractive women and only seven males. Of the seven male students one appears to be photoshopped and another looks about forty.

Northwestern is in the greater Chicago area. If you can't find a boyfriend in 4 years in a metro the size of Chicago, I would argue you are not prioritizing finding a relationship.

Brochure photography is funny. The people who make them often get a bee in their bonnet about when to take the pictures. The talent is hastily assembled, often ad hoc. Like telling all the work study student guides to go outside and take a picture.

I once ended up in a brochure months later without being told that was the purpose of the pictures. I found out when someone brought me the finished brochure. I definitely consented to having my picture taken but didn't expect it to be committed to physical paper.

Our daughters have had zero issues at majority female schools, dating-wise. It works itself.
Granted this was a million years ago, but I went to college at a school where the ratio was closer to a 70/30 female to male ratio. Again, no problems and plenty of our friends married someone from our college.
