Mine sit at the kitchen table, too. What difference does it make when they sit? Are you looking at their screen for two hours? |
Probably. Or just complete nut jobs. |
I’m all for sensible oversight and limits on tech for kids and teens, but honestly, kids who are raised in these police state households are the ones I worry most about when they get to college. |
| Should be tried for neglectful parenting. |
Honest question: how does a parent supervise the use of chat GPT? Lots of kids use it for schoolwork. There's no way to see what your kid is typing in there from any parental control software I've seen. |
Eventually you will realize that this sense of control you’ve created for yourself is an illusion. |
Your think minimal computer usage = police state, but your kids will axe themselves over chat gpt and see nothing wrong with that? You’re delusional. |
It’s not a sense of control I seek, it’s protection of their innocence and childhood. Once you give that up to computers you don’t get it back. Until college it’s considered an educational tool in our home and not something they depend on for daily life because they have plenty of other interests and activities keeping them busy. I don’t worry about this minute aspect of their lives one bit. You raise your children however you want, I’m not over here attacking you so don’t know why you feel the need to attack me. |

I don’t think people on here are pro Mike Johnson refusing to vote on the safety for children online act. |
And they refuse to vote on a bill to keep kids safe online. |
You can’t, which is why there should be regulations around the technology. |
I am not blaming the parents, but it's also not AI's fault either. |
| Horrendous parents! |
+1 they failed |
