Actually they would’ve survived just fine. They only get a cell phone to use when they’re driving alone and they don’t drive much by themselves until college.  Also they don’t get unsupervised access to a computer until college.  I had children because I wanted to be a parent, not because I wanted to give them a computer and let that do my job for me. It’s not a sense of control I seek, it’s protection of their innocence and childhood. Once you give that up to computers you don’t get it back. Until college it’s considered an educational tool in our home and not something they depend on for daily life because they have plenty of other interests and activities keeping them busy. I don’t worry about this minute aspect of their  lives one bit. You raise your children however you want, I’m not over here attacking you so don’t know why you feel the need to attack me.[/quote]
