To be fair what was there before was very short and quick— at least in 2024.

Nothing like the pages upon pages at ivies, Georgetown, etc

It seems that kids applying EA will have a much lower chance of admissions now. Applications will skyrocket! ED will be imperative this cycle if you really want UVA.

Are we sure they won’t lower the ED acceptance rate too? They don’t commit in advance to how many students they take ED

So lazy kids will apply in droves. Can't be bothered to write those essays, so why not throw in an app? Talk about dumbing down admissions.

65% of Virginia HS graduates apply to UVA.

What is the profile of a student who wouldn’t apply if it required an essay, buy would otherwise?

If the entire graduating class of the USA applied to UVA, it would gross $300Million in fees. UVA budget is $5.8Billion.

Application fees are not a profit center.

Staff is so demoralized by what went down in the past few weeks, they don’t even care who they let in anymore.

Maybe they will just use AI like VT

(They just did the whole refresh) There are only arts supplements listed on the UVA website though. Any chance these come out later for UVA or do you think they dropped it this year? When were they released last year? https://admission.virginia.edu/admission/deadlines-instructions

Finally if it actually happens

A hundred million here, a hundred million there, pretty soon it adds up to real money.

But I think the bigger goal is to appear more selective.

And to take away holistic admissions to appease Trump.
