No supplemental essays for UVA?

Anonymous
There are no supplemental essays for UVA in the common app. I wonder if it’s a common app bug. (They just did the whole refresh) There are only arts supplements listed on the UVA website though. Any chance these come out later for UVA or do you think they dropped it this year? When were they released last year? https://admission.virginia.edu/admission/deadlines-instructions

DD is starting in a couple weeks, and I don’t remember

Maybe DeanJ will do her Instagram live today for this week and explain. It is strange that UVA explicitly says no additional essays in the common app. At least one other school DC is applying to says “coming soon” so you know to plan for it

I think they’re just behind. She said last week there would be supplementals, they were still waiting.

They must be coming, right? They would get an absurd number of applications as TO and no supplements.

Yes, there will be supplementals. Did you try to find them on UVAs website as opposed to the common app?

OP linked to the UVA site in the original question. None listed

This is so weird, please post if anyone gets more info!

My kid is going to be so happy if no supplementals

Under the AI info section on the webpage it mentions “essays and written supplements” so I suspect they are coming.

Part of the maga makeover. All that is needed is a quick briben to dear leader and you're in, but hurry slots are limited.

Maybe lay off the caffeine, I think you’ve had enough this morning.

Dean J is trying to suss out the wording of the oos yield essay. It’s tricky. You can’t just say, “Why is this state school worth private school tuition to your family?”

As Austin Powers would say, “Yield, baby, yield! Think, baby, think!”

You aren't watching the lives. Admissions doesn't get to write the questions anymore. There's some committee doing it. Probably SCOTUS related.
