No supplemental essays for UVA?

Probably know their rankings are going to take a hit and trying to juice acceptance rates further down. The maga cult has stupidity as one of their core pillars so there is that as well.

Meshes pretty well with the overall decline of societal intelligence. That is why you have t10 students who start their freshman year never having read a novel or know how to self write without AI doing it. Dumb and Dumber.

You are assuming the PP is (1) informed and (2) posting in good faith. Neither is true.

NP. The Insider Higher Ed article last week provided copies of multiple letters from the DOJ to UVA requesting admissions files (including essays). This is definitely a proactive measure. No essays, no proof the school is considering race in admissions.

This really makes no sense. Is your son not applying anywhere else that requires supplemental essays? They can be reworked. Are you saying the only thing holding him back was the extra essays?

You really can't see how it's easier to submit an app without supplementals?

The MAGA R VA Governor replaced the entire UVA Board of Visitors with MAGA Rs. That's why Ryan was forced out. He had no support left on the BoV.

My kid had crossed UVA off the list, but once he heard there are no more essays he has put it back on. UVA will be the new Northeastern this year. I wonder if their applications will top 75,000-100,000?

We went to a UVA Engineering open house this spring that just talked about the supplemental essay so this cancellation must be very recent.

This will drive up applications crazy! So the denominator will be high/ but so many won’t be of high caliber.
