No common sense is showing. We all know how this story ends.

It's a terrible idea.

Compared to Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos who donate very little, he’s a saint and I will sleep better tonight knowing that fewer children will die of hunger due to his donation.

You sound like a ghoul.

NP. No one talks about their fertility rate. Someone brought up hunger in Sudan. I am sorry but why have like 5 or 6 children per woman if there is so much hunger? Can someone please explain? I do not think Bill Gates $ 200 billion will fix the problem.

I bet the Trump Foundation could do more good than the Gates Foundation.

Our goal
To empower women and girls to take charge of their own reproductive health, enable them to make informed decisions about family planning, and ensure their access to contraceptive options that meet their needs.

If you don’t want him to spend all that money in Africa then I guess you should support much higher tax rates for wealthy folks. Why do I suspect that there is more than a little hypocrisy among the loudest critics?

I'd recommend folks read the press release, because it lays out the Foundation's plan as well as some success stories across the continent.

I don't agree with everything the Gates Foundation has ever done, and they are known to be kind of a nightmare employer in the NGO space, but they have been more impactful on the African Continent than almost any other political or nonpolitical actor.

Moreover, this donation is coming at a time when the USA has just....abdicated its role in global health and hunger relief, leaving millions to die.

Yep. Remember when Gates met our favorite "leader" to convince him and advocate to him that gobal public funding should not be cut.

Kudos to Bill Gates.

Hasn't he learned from the mistakes of countless others who donated to Africa only to have the money disappear into a black hole by corrupt politicians and warlords?

He's up to something. Some sort of scam.

And Africa is a continent, not a country or people. How odd to decide to donate to a landmass.

+1 Our government just spitefully and unilaterally cut aid, causing scores of children to unnecessarily die. Literally medicine is sitting in a warehouse rotting because of the felon and Milier's cruelty.
