Bill Gates is donating 99% of his entire fortune to Africa

Good for Bill!

So, OP thinks it’s cool to tell a person how they should spend their own money? Cool.

OP also doesn’t realize that Microsoft is a global company with paying customers all over the world?
LOL.

Another example of why there should be a meaningful wealth tax on billionaire fortunes. At least some of it would benefit the US. He could endow NIH research in areas he cares about.

And have it cut by Trump et al?

Don't you realize that this is exactly why he's doing this?

His money, he can spend it how he wants.

You can move to Africa to try to get a piece of it.

Think of it as reparations for colonialism.

Anyway, Bill has all already spent billions "fixing" education in the US and "donating" Windows computers.

Very true, but OP is so ignorant they don't even know.

OP, so you think that you or we should have a say on how people spend their money? And you think you know better than Bill Gates how he should dedicate the profits of his life’s work? And you seem to think Microsoft is a US phenomenon? OP, I think you should go back to school (where you might benefit from donations from the Gates family of technology tools).

+1. He can spend his money however he likes, but there are causes he could donate to that would benefit all of us, such as medical research.

Anonymous wrote:Why do you hate capitalism OP? He earned the money and now he can spend it where he chooses. That's America. If you don't like it you can go back to wherever you came from.

+1.

Compared to Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos who donate very little, he’s a saint and I will sleep better tonight knowing that fewer children will die of hunger due to his donation.

You sound like a ghoul.

Sorry not everyone's a bleeding heart like you

Where do you want the money to go? YOU?

Maybe it should go to building up this country. You know... the country that allowed him to make those 200 billion dollars. He's helping to siphon all the wealth he's made here to go to the third world to be squandered. The problem with these billionaires is they're all internationalists who have zero loyalties to the culture and nation that allowed them to be successful.

Americans are too lazy and entitled. Too much dead weight. I see nothing wrong with giving it to people who want to better themselves.

Hasn't he learned from the mistakes of countless others who donated to Africa only to have the money disappear into a black hole by corrupt politicians and warlords?

Sounds dumb. Is this via gates foundation at least so there’s some thought and accountability?

I’d just give 2 million Africans 100,000 dollars and call it a day.
