They don’t believe in or prohibit abortions, and contraception is not readily available. Some states in the USA will witness this same phenomenon of excess births by year 2030ish.

Don't have intercourse then if they don't want kids. Not that difficult.

Very crass. The reality is that many teenage and adult women in Sudan do not have a lot of say w/r/t when and with whom they have intercourse.

It is indeed very difficult.

So what has Gates foundation done about that such cultural belief in Sudan and other African countries/ cultures? It’s been around 25 years, what does it do?

You are far too ignorant to talk about reproductive healthcare.

Probably too ignorant to talk about most topics.

This PP is being facetious not serious in case you couldn't tell, nasty responder.

But in all seriousness, high birthrates are at the center of a lot of problems in poor underdeveloped nations. I don't understand why governments don't push birth control. Excess poor people = exploited labor force. In the case of Latin America excess poor people has contributed to mass illegal immigration to the U.S.

No, that is a serious response from idiotic RWNJs.

Why no birth control? Misogyny. Religion.

Poor women have babies to feel wanted. By the baby.
This is well written about in sociology.

The birth rate in Latin America is under control, it’s actually below replacement rate at this point.

Not in Central America

Not in Central American illegal immigrants.

Not in MoCo’s Central American illegal immigrants. They’re clocking in 4.38 children per childbearing aged female. Read the county reports.

The poverty is far beyond anything in the US and for many, medical care is non existent. Yes, graft and corruption exist, as it does in the US, but Gates is smart enough to work directly with qualified NGOs and not just handing money to a government.

Results are what?

Govt continues to do other things.

Yes in Central America. Guatemala is at 2.2, El Salvador is at 1.8, Mexico is at 1.8. I’d be interested to see the county report; that level of birth rate is out of whack with the current birth rates from the countries they’re coming from.

I’m Not American, but it’s not like Americans are pushing or supporting birth control, despite your own issues?

Not to mention excess poor people = exploited labor force? Like the people working for wages that don’t afford them a roof over their head, or health care, or basic necessities?

You all really can’t be this oblivious to the irony of your post?

Have you seen up close and personal the level of poverty in an underdeveloped country? If you had, you would never complain about what you don't have here.

Sorry not everyone's a bleeding heart like you

Where do you want the money to go? YOU?

Maybe it should go to building up this country. You know... the country that allowed him to make those 200 billion dollars. He's helping to siphon all the wealth he's made here to go to the third world to be squandered. The problem with these billionaires is they're all internationalists who have zero loyalties to the culture and nation that allowed them to be successful.

Ooh... you're a MAGA xenophobe. Got it. No, PP. African nations need the help a lot more than people here, even poor Americans. We don't have active and uncontrolled malaria here, or AIDS-infected people on every corner.

A leftie forever but I have worked in many African countries, and China is slowly and steadily colonizing them with medical care, infrastructure, and manufacturing. They promise jobs to the grifting politicians, but bring in Chinese labor. Gates is all that stands against Africa being completely controlled by the Chinese.

China isn't colonizing. They come in, grease a few palms, extract whatever they want with foreign workers, and then disappear.

Yup. Generally long term contracts for mineral rights or ports. They learned from Hong Kong.

I think that’s awesome. I don’t particularly like Bill Gates but he could be way worse. He’s always been a philanthropist too. Unlike Musk or Bezos.

The Africans in many countries take Chinese money but hate them to the core. The more they meet the Chinese, the more the hate deepens. China will spend trillions in Africa and get nothing but fake smiles and hate from Africans.
