Spraying Neighbors Dandelions

Don’t you f***ing dare spray poison into other people’s yards.

The pollinators- bees, butterflies, etc- say thank you!

I love to let the dandelions grow wild and blow into my 70+ year old neighbors yard. Gives them something to do.

I enjoy throwing trash all over your front lawn should I be allowed to do that. You weeds seeds are blowing all over your neighbors house who now have to pay hundreds to TruGreen to get rid of.

If you can keep you weed seeds on your side most would not care. But you cant.

You are literally insane. You’re upset about the wind. Part of living in a neighborhood is that things nearby properties (e.g. seeds, leaves, water run off, etc.) will carry over to your property.

If you can’t handle the reality of the natural world this way then I recommend not having neighbors close by.

Maybe they need to live in an apartment, or perhaps a 55+ community with other MAGAs

It is wild to me that even after years of messaging about the harms of monoculture and pesticides, and the dire outlook for pollinators, that people like OP still exist.
A uniform green lawn doesn't even look nice! If you hate the planet and its other residents so much, please go live in an apartment building. Don't wreck what's left for the rest of us. You don't have that right.

I like the dandelions, and my bees, and keeping my children away from that poison.

There's a word for what you'd be doing: trespassing. And say your weedkiller does harm to something like a tree, pet or person, you're on the hook for that.

If you tink your neighbors won’t mind, why not just ask them?
Otherwise you’re just a selfish AH. I would be really mad.

Personally, I think you're a warm-hearted neighbor doing them a service. How else are they going to get exercise?

Don't spray. Just pull them up by the roots with the special tool if they are near your property line. That's what I do.

I spray Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns.

The Spectracide granular Weed Stop for Lawns I run spreader somewhat close to property line but try to stay a bit back. That is just twice a year.

The spray is pretty much invisible. I have a nozzle so I am back a foot or two from the property line.

I dont care what happens theirside. But Dandelions in April once they go to seed the wind takes them on my house.

Three weeks ago I did the granular stuff front yard. Then two weeks ago Sprayed all the popping up Dandelions, Last weekend and Last Tuesday I hit the Dandelions that popped up again. Then I hit them again this Saturday morning by dropping granular killer on leaves of last few left. Then on late Sunday afternoon yesterday I went out and any left I pulled by roots.

I am free of them for now. My gardener has not come yet. He may come late next week so I guess on Tuesday when I WFH I will hit the last of them. Once he is cutting weekly not an issue.

I am not doing it rear yard, I have kids a dog etc. I just want my front patch to look good. And it is all lawn up there. So no creatures hanging out.

I am sure the renter does not care. Not his house and he has no kids or pets. The other women I cant tell if she is a crunch person or cheap. She had cameras up her property so I only spray a bit back. But over spray I am all for. She should not have weeds on the property line.

You are a disgusting, selfish, entitled person. What a horrible neighbor you are. You don't get to dictate what she does in her yard. Where do you live?

I would say the opposite. Stop throwing Dandelion seeds all over my yard. None of the ones I have are from me.

The law is not in your favor. If you spray herbicide on their lawn, you are trespassing. You have a duty to stay on your side of the property line. Your neighbor is not legally responsible for seeds or leaves that blow from their yard into your yard. It's just nature.

Am I responsible for the wind? I am just spraying the wind takes it their way? Should I file a lawsuit when their guys are blowing leaves and some end up my side.

And people who dig out dandelions usually pour roundup on the hole. Only way to kill it when roots are torn and exposed. The roots can go a few feet.

Oh stop. You are making this up. They do not go down "a few feet".

Dandelions have tap roots. Their average length is 12-18”, but some have been found with roots 10’ deep. Maybe stfu if you don’t know anything.

Dandelions are gods gift to the people.

Beautiful, edible, free. Let them grow.

You're nuts. I'm allergic to dandelions. I HATE THEM. We deal with our property though. We us3 a lawn care company and would not dream of trying to get a little overspray to the neighbor's lawn. It does not matter if they have kids, pets, or not.

+1. You can’t spray your neighbor’s property. You shouldn’t be spraying your own either—it’s bad for the environment and for your health and dandelions are harmless anyway. But you definitely cannot spray anyone else’s yard. And it’s pointless anyway bc you’d have to spray like all the yards in the county to be sure no dandelion seeds got to your yard since the seeds can blow from far away. You’re better off putting up a tall fence so you don’t have to see the neighbors’ yards (and they don’t have to see you glaring at them about their dandelions.)

I have to report I am dandelion free in front and my dog did go to kennel for a few days as we took a trip a few days. I then blasted the hell of out backyard while wife dropping off dog as no one going back there a few days. We came back 4 days later later in evening and I blasted anything new in spot treatment. As luck would have it went with wife to get dog in morning and gardeners came while we were out. Only chance at rear yard this season.
