Spraying Neighbors Dandelions

Anonymous
I have two neighbors left and right of my front yard with no fence between lawns. One is a renter the other owns but a bit "crunchy or lazy" and both let Dandelions go wild.

I have been trying to control my dandelions religiously this Spring. I pull then, spray them, put granular weed killer on them etc. But my question is what about the ones from the Neighbors?

I have been going up to property line, never crossing the property line and anything withing a few inches or a foot or two I will give a spray at the Dandelions.

Is that ok to do?

No, never spray poison on someone else's property. You are already hurting a dwindling insect population, the fauna that eats them and the water supply. That stuff causes cancer and should be illegal.

I really like my neighbors. However, if one of them sprayed my lawn without getting consent from me first it would change my opinion about them. So many sprays are toxic these days. It may kill plants they are growing, may have an ingredient those causes an allergic reaction in family member or pet. Would start with renter first.

You cannot spray.
Ask them if you can pick the flowers before they spread seeds.

Your crusade against dandelions is quixotic and extreme. Just let them be, they are pretty and harmless.

Do that in my yard I’m calling the police and then suing you. I am not joking. I had a neighbor like you who didn’t understand boundaries of any type and I won’t tolerate this bs for one second.

You’re an ignorant fool who doesn’t understand what herbicides are doing to the environment. Btw whatever you’re spraying won’t get rid of dandelions.

Must be a troll.

No one would think it’s not ok to step on someone’s lawn but it’s ok to spray their lawn with chemicals.

Monoculture lawns are the problem, not

I spray Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns.

The Spectracide granular Weed Stop for Lawns I run spreader somewhat close to property line but try to stay a bit back. That is just twice a year.

The spray is pretty much invisible. I have a nozzle so I am back a foot or two from the property line.

I dont care what happens theirside. But Dandelions in April once they go to seed the wind takes them on my house.

Three weeks ago I did the granular stuff front yard. Then two weeks ago Sprayed all the popping up Dandelions, Last weekend and Last Tuesday I hit the Dandelions that popped up again. Then I hit them again this Saturday morning by dropping granular killer on leaves of last few left. Then on late Sunday afternoon yesterday I went out and any left I pulled by roots.

I am free of them for now. My gardener has not come yet. He may come late next week so I guess on Tuesday when I WFH I will hit the last of them. Once he is cutting weekly not an issue.

I am not doing it rear yard, I have kids a dog etc. I just want my front patch to look good. And it is all lawn up there. So no creatures hanging out.

I am sure the renter does not care. Not his house and he has no kids or pets. The other women I cant tell if she is a crunch person or cheap. She had cameras up her property so I only spray a bit back. But over spray I am all for. She should not have weeds on the property line.

if you’re going to insist on carrying on with your psychotic crusade against dandelions at least stop being so freaking lazy and go pull them up yourself instead of spraying crap all over the place.

You are a disgusting, selfish, entitled person. What a horrible neighbor you are. You don't get to dictate what she does in her yard. Where do you live?

I cant go on neighbors yard to pull them. Plus I also use Preemergint granular. And I do pull them too. When do pull them and dig a hole I used to pour roundup in the hole. That is only guarantee they wont come back.

I would say the opposite. Stop throwing Dandelion seeds all over my yard. None of the ones I have are from me.

So because your neighbor doesn’t spray poison she is either crunchy or lazy. Got it.
