Why don’t you like dandelions? They are part of nature and are actually quite pretty at this time of year.
It’s really very un-neighborly to try to impose your idea of what a lawn should look like on your neighbors. Not everyone one wants a lawn that consists of nothing but grass. The fact that you want that look is fine for you, but not everyone wants that. When I see a lawn that is entirely grass, without the hint of a weed, I know that the people who live there are using poisons and I judge them for that. So you might not be getting the reaction you assume from neighbors who pass by your weed-less front lawn. |

Dandelions are edible. They are actually pretty good for you. But you'd not want to harvest them if you use poisons on your yard.
|
Keep pulling them from your own yard, obviously. Also, this is so insane that I highly recommend you look into therapy. |
Except I used to have this crazy old asian lady who did not speak English on my lawn picking them to make tea when I had them. Was werid |

OP, you and I are on the opposite sides of this issue, it’s true. I can understand your anger, because I would be livid if a neighbor sprayed anything on my property. And you are livid about dandelion seeds blowing onto your property.
But, your position is not logical. Dandelion seeds blow a lot further than a few feet. I don’t know what radius you would need to eradicate dandelions within your yard patch, but Google says they can travel 500 miles. They also stick to feet and lawnmower blades. So you’d have to nix the mowing service and pave your backyard, as a start. It would make more sense if you were dealing with vines or bamboo. But the reality is you still can’t exempt yourself from property laws just because you’re annoyed. If you did this to my yard (which is crunchy and bug friendly with lots of native plants and certainly weeds among them), our neighborly relationship would be over. Scortched earth (lol). And I’m a pretty good neighbor, so I would argue you would ultimately be hurting yourself. Your hose is on while you’re on vacation? Get f$&ed. Etc. Forever. |

You absolutely can't spray your neighbor's property with anything!!! Are you insane? If I saw you spraying my property I would lose my shit.
You sound dumb and entitled. |
| no! |
No!! I have ours treated every year because I'm allergic to them. But, you NEVER put something on someone else's lawn. Maybe they are feeding the bees. |
| No! Some people eat them. |
The law is not in your favor. If you spray herbicide on their lawn, you are trespassing. You have a duty to stay on your side of the property line. Your neighbor is not legally responsible for seeds or leaves that blow from their yard into your yard. It's just nature. |
OMG just stop. Use a dandelion weeder and pull the root. It's not hard. Why don't people like dandelions anyway? They are pretty and very good for your soil. They are also edible. |
Am I responsible for the wind? I am just spraying the wind takes it their way? Should I file a lawsuit when their guys are blowing leaves and some end up my side. And people who dig out dandelions usually pour roundup on the hole. Only way to kill it when roots are torn and exposed. The roots can go a few feet. |
it's illegal to use pesticides in a manner contrary to product instructions and I guarantee there is a label on the container that says not to use on windy days and to take steps to control drift. At least technically you could be subject to federal prosecution. |
| I might be the only person who gets where OP is coming from. I agree with everyone that you cannot spray on somebody else’s property. But you damn well can go right up to that line. I do that all the time with my neighbors weeds. |

Put a high fence around your yard, and then stay away from your neighbors' properties.
