Sidwell - waitlisted
Maret - waitlisted
Potomac School - waitlisted
We did not get in anywhere. I am so incredibly disappointed. Do we have any hope to get off waitlists..

Reach out to Potomac and tell them they are your first choice and if extended an offer, you will accept. It’s highest probability of the 3 schools.

Actually Maret would be the highest probability now.

lol no

For those interested in rational thinking and data, the AISWG collects these data as well as yield data. Both Maret and Potomac admit about 10 kids into 4th . Potomac has 100+ applicants and Maret has appx 80. The yield is higher at Potomac as well so the likelihood to get into Maret is both higher for decisions and wait poop. But lol no

Oldest was rejected years ago for K. I have a current student now. So yes, they definitely reject in K.

Waitpooled at Holton for sixth grade and feeling incredibly disappointed. Do we know if anyone was actually rejected or is everyone just respectfully placed in the waitpool?

They do reject. My DD was rejected several years ago, but I have no idea about the size and movement of their waitpool. Did you apply/get in anywhere else?

They absolutely reject some. No school wants a ton of families pestering them all summer about potential spots.

But just to be the rain cloud, don’t count on movement. It’s very rare.

nces.ed.gov - ask your school/organization for the data you need. All the DC area schools that are part of AISGW have memberships

Burke, Grade 10, waitlisted. When do folks have to commit by and does Burke reject or is the waitlist the friendly rejection?

We only donated to the Preferred Candidate level. We got waitlisted.

Classic error. Sorry about the waitlist, hope it clears or that you have better fortune in future cycles.

Thank you for responding. Yes, my DD was accepted at SSFS but the more I read about turmoil there I think we would just have her go to the MCPS public MS over SSFS. Holton was/is our first choice far and away so just feeling very down today after months of waiting 😒

Our DC will go to MCPS MS and also really disappointed. Invested so much in this process and a waitlist would have felt better than a rejection.

go ahead and post the actual data that you’re claiming you’ve seen. A link to a random homepage ain’t that.
