So funny that private schools release that information so late on Friday afternoon. Don’t want disgruntled parents to be contacting them right afterwards, I guess!

So true funny story I saw an admissions officer at a local grocery store and wanted to walk up and say “why did you waitlist my child” but of course so refrained and moved to another aisle. They are normal people who have to make tough decisions. So no love lost. My DC got into a great school so we’re happy.

Or…they want to give the kids time to process without having to go into school the next day.

Colleges do the same thing.

Precisely. The hope is that the insane parents have time to chill over the weekend. Then the truly insane ones call on Monday and get on the permanent "do not admit" list.

Particularly for HS admissions, it is so that kids do not receive results while at school. Seems reasonable.

WES middle school, rejected. Really sad right now but what to do?

Two siblings, 4th grade and 6th grade
GDS accepted
NCS accepted
Maret wait-listed
Sidwell rejected

I think GDS is a better fit for one and NCS is a better fit for the other, so we need to decide if we want to split them up

As a family with one kid at gds and one kid at another school, if you can at all manage kids in different schools, it's worth it. Gds is wonderful for the right kid, but you need to be able to manage independence.
