Daughter in at Holton!
Donated as well….. |
Actually Maret would be the highest probability now. |
Now where. Just holton |
These schools have voluminous quantities of highly qualified applicants (at all ages). Just like in the college process, your kid can be immensely talented with great grades and a big personality but that's really just table stakes. It's a bit of a crapshoot. I know this doesn't help now, but if you want your kid in private school, apply to 4-5, including some that are marginally less competitive. Putting your eggs in one basket is rarely a great strategy. Sorry to say that and I hope that the current school situation is at least tenable enough to get you to the next application cycle. |
Thankyou. Maybe in middle school. lol. Feel sad though. |
Congrats! Hope your family will join. We love it there. |
We also have kids applying to 4th/6th grades. They were waitlisted at the seven schools we applied to (applied broadly to try and avoid this). |
Sorry to hear it. Sounds like you did everything right. |
What is the admissions fund? |
Accepted at Holton for 4th grade. Side question: Has anyone ever declined acceptance in elementary and then applied in a higher grade like middle school and accepted again? |
DC in at Field! Trying to find out when the start and end times are for the school day. Can a current parent let me know? |
I heard you should never do that. |
Is the admission fund a joke? |
It helps to donate at the $5,000 "Preferred Candidate" level or the $10,000 "Admissions Trailblazer" level. Of course, if you have $25K and can join the "Admitted Students Circle," you have historically been in good shape. |
I’m sure there are some anecdotal stories of that happening, but it’s not likely. Why should a school take a chance on a kid a second time when they were turned down the first time, given how many excellent applicants all the schools have? If you really want to be there, take the spot now. |
