I'm curious in what ways they have perverted the faith? The evangelicals I know are following the bible to a "T", which is what makes them so abhorent to me. And of course, by extension, what makes the words in the bible abhorent to me also. I have learned some verses, as they were used against my family in horrifically painful ways to sever previouslly loving relationships, and those words are actually IN the bible.

I agree with your opinion about the "bag of eternal stench" though.

This is Jesus said about what would happen in Matthew 10:34. You prove the Bible true:

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

You abhor the Bible because you hate God and love your sin.

Screw you. I hate that people believe the disgusting words in the bible. I don't believe in sin as I don't believe in god or the bible. Thank you for proving MY point lol.
Your unbelief does not make it untrue. You are someone who is offensive to God. I urge you to reconsider and repent (turn from unbelief and away from sin):

Matthew 13:41-42

41. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

You will be gnashing your teeth in anger because God has judged you. “How DARE he!” you hatefully grumble. “Science disproved the existence of God. Sagan and Darwin could not have been wrong…ohhhhhhh” you wail, bemoaning that you believed a lie. You gnash your teeth in anger that this has happened to you.

I am a Christian and it is people like you who are difficult for me to swallow. It is you who present the true challenge to my following my faith. You cloak your preaching in hatred and fire. You use Jesus' name...Jesus' name!...to preach hatred, retribution, discrimination, and violence. I wonder how many people have *truly* converted to follow Jesus because of fear? I'm guessing zero, not in their heads or their hearts.

You know what really reaches people? You know what the overriding message of Jesus is for those of us that are mere mortals? Love and mercy. Love and mercy. Love and kindness and mercy.

You are here to care for your fellow man in the name of Jesus, not persecute him in the name of Jesus. If you suffer in the name of Jesus, you should not seek revenge, you should turn the other cheek.

The truth is that the messages of Jesus are completely in conflict with the messages of American rugged individualism. So many American Christians are trying to rewrite the teachings of Jesus to suit their own narrative. And you end up with the Christian Right and complete disgraces like Trump.

I'd rather break bread with an atheist who is kind and compassionate that one of you modern-day Pharisees.

Bravo! I, an atheist, would rather break bread with you than the so-called Christian you're responding to. In fact, I'd prefer being with anyone besides people like the so-called Christian above who uses religion for hate.

Not all Christians are fake. I am a Christian and can see how these methods to play Find The Bias can easily backfire against Christians.

I freely admit I am biased against homosexuals, transgenders, and people sporting tattoos looking like a dumpster covered in graffiti. All things being even I would not hire these people if another candidate was available. There are probably situations where a Christian would not be hired. Everyone has bias.

What I am curious to see is what will happen when this bias is found. Prosecuting bias is similar to accusing someone of a thought crime.

That is why I said if I were an atheist I would be concerned because I can see this blowing up into a witch hunt to find someone with bias. The legal shenanigans used to find this bias could later be used against Christians or, God forbid, against the Jews again.

Sorry, but admitting your bigotry isn't Christian. I personally don't like tattoos, but I would never hold that against someone for a job. You sound very small minded and chomping at the bit for the next Inquisition.

Liar.

How would you know? Why not just say you don't believe it?

No one should want this.
When they come for me they will come for you is a statement for a reason.

You think Musk or Trump are Christians?

You think they won't turn on you?

Most importantly if you want this utter crap an American you are not.

Separation of Church and State is a Consitutional thing. If we do not have a consitution we are no longer America

SCOTUS will side with Musk on this and it is going to be the end of women in this country and children as well. Let the abuse begin....

Evangelicals and Baptists etc if you voted for this shit jokes on you. SCOTUS has a common denominator and it ain't you. And jews that voted for a Nazi lover wow how do you get up in the mornings morons.

100% agree as a non-believer as well. I know some pretty wonderful Christians who actually do live by the teachings of Jesus. I wish those were the only kind of Christians.

People obsessed with sin have deep seated psychological issues.

Times like this, I wish there were a hell for a certain kind of Christian to go to.

And certain atheists, too. Like Trump and Musk.

Would you rather I lie and smile to your face, “Oh, I approve of sinner’s sins like homosexuality. I am 100% objective, no bias here, no siree!”

There is bias against Christians. Imagine, if for some odd reason a bible-believing Christian tried to get a job at a gay bar. The bar owner would be justified to choose a gay employee over the Christian who might disrupt or drive away customers.

Modern day Christians are not the persecuted, they are the ones doing the persecution. I say this as a Christian horrified by what I see around me.

Jesus doesn't ask you to love the sins, He asks you to love the sinners. You are one of them. You do not get to place yourself above anyone else. You do not get to commit acts of hatred in His name.

That care for others IN THIS LIFE whether they are Christians or not. Or even if they have tattoos !!!!!

Wait until you die and it's not belief in Jesus that gets you in, but instead it's Munkar and Nakir weighing your false choice.

You seem a little hung up on teeth gnashing, maybe caused by too much Bible reading. It's the only place I know of where teeth gnashing is even mentioned.
