DP. Both UVA and W&M are safeties at DC's well regarded private.

We have a junior at W&M who had a 1370 SAT but a lower GPA and only three years foreign language. Had to take two semesters of a ( different) foreign language at W&M.
Your kid has a great shot, I think.

Collegevine gave DD a 78% chance of acceptance. Naviance, based on last year’s data, looked good too. But at her MCPS HS, kids with <4.85 WGPA were outright rejected this year. Same kids would have gotten in last year.

This happened at our W school too. Hoping for better outcomes elsewhere.

Safety. At DD’s private school, the acceptance rate is 100 percent for kids with her stats over the past 5 years. This is based on a sample of about 20 kids.

OP’s kid is not at a private but an OOS public that probably has dozens of kids apply every year. TO. Much tougher admit.

OP here with an update: DD was admitted for Fall 2025 and accepted last week!!! She’s so excited. Thought others considering W&M TO would appreciate the news. We hoped the other parts of her application would outweigh her lack of scores and they did. Whew!
