Looks like someone bothered to go and check. The Equity office in FCPS employs 52 and costs $6.4 million, enough to hire 125 new teachers.

And it is money well spent

It is well spent on quacks who promote intersectionality and critical race theory and other such nonsense.

Then, the DEI work is certainly not affected if there are a "lot of those."

"effective" not "affected."

I'm not sure what your point is. I just explained that they have nothing to do with DEI.

Thomas Jefferson High School Admissions Office being a part of DEI office - What a joke! It's why TJ went downhill!

If there are so many sexual assaults then the DEI is not effectively doing their job. Isn't their job to prevent this type of activity? To teach students to be respectful of others? If we need at least three investigators then they are not effectively doing their jobs. And, DEI training is not working.

That would be true equity making sure every child can read.

Preach.

I don't think there's such a thing as "DEI training", but even if there's is, it's not going to eliminate sex harassment and assaults. Of course you know that. This is not a DEI function.

Then why do the investigators fall under the DEI office? Title IX could also have been to address the trans issues--at least before Trump was elected.

It's not actually a DEI office for one thing. It's the Equity Office. But regardless they're just there for a lack of a better home. They are in different places in different school systems. Its required by law that schools have them.

No such thing as "equity training?" Check out the salaries and expenses. There's a whole division to around 1 million dollars.

This really crushed my child's dream. Child's dream was to become a chief equity officer. I thought we would have a 10 million strong equity officers in US economy, scaring the hell out of China, Russia and all our enemies.

Let me know where you see the word "trainer" or any variation in the org chart or salary list.

Cancel the DEI. Hire more teachers, of all races. Give all teachers bonuses and raises.

Because it’s RW astroturf. Google Mark Spooner, who runs the website in the link. He’s an old fart cranky who keeps suing FCPS and wasting public funds over BS like library books.

He’s taking money directly out of our schools in service of his bigotry.
