| Ugh. 6 months to go for me (excepted). At least my reviews are 5s/exceed and I got a quality increase. I like my job, don't want to go back to a law firm |
The memo only asks for people on probation with less than one year of service in the competitive service. You still have civil service protections based on your time in so you can’t be part of a mass action. |
| I wouldn't freak out about this. This gives heads of agency lots of leeway to keep people on probation that are doing great. If I was on probation and not doing so hot, I'd be worried. |
I looked, and it's not on there. There's only the box that says conditional or permanent. |
Is his name Donald? |
But you realize that the heads of all of the agencies are Trump appointees now, right? Whose only qualification was being willing to do whatever he wants them to? |
| My supervisor started last week. What do you think, thumb up or thumb down? |
This appears to be the meanest among all actions toward federal employees. Submiting a list people falling into a category who are not violating anything by default? |
Exactly. Possibly reforms are needed. The likelihood of this administration enacting them precisely or responsibly is low. |
|
"In addition, agencies should promptly determine whether those
employees should be retained at the agency." Hopefully, they won't fire probationary employees who are doing well. |
Pull up the vacancy announcement. |
If you're permanent, you're past probation. If conditional...depends on the date. |
You need to read up on ageism. |
I really hope this is just a coincidence. https://washingtonprogram.ucdavis.edu/alumni/amanda-scales |
Absolutely. After UC Davis, she worked in HR at Uber. |
