I was not probationary when I transferred to a different agency without a break in service

Was your grade changed between old and new agencies? for example, you were gs13 at old agency and gs 14 at new agency.

I think it depends on whether your DH's new position is same or similar to his previous position.

The memo asks for the agency's recommendation. Kinda hard to recommend keeping someone who got a 1 or 2 on their eval.

You guys aren't firing the probationary people who aren't making Fully Successful? I'm just confused because we 100% do.

But the new people are not getting an evaluation until the end of the fiscal year, which is in September. The mid year is in June and it's not official.

It depends. I transferred to a new agency that is in the “excepted” service so now fall under a new probationary period. Excepted service is 2 year probation period. My previous agency had a one year probation period.

Is this the one-year probation or everyone up to 3 years?

At my agency you would be on a new probationary period. I just became a manager (same office I’ve been working for 15 years) and I was told that I am on a probationary period for one year. WTF??

Yeah there’s a longstanding regulation mandating that. But if you fail performance wise you just get demoted to non supervisor , not removed.

How do you determine if the new position is same or similar to previous position? Previous position was a gs13 non-supervisory attorney, and new position is a gs14 non-supervisory attorney.

Your official HR hiring documentation will say if you are on probation. The probation is one year.

Poor lady. And OPM is pretty toxic too.
