Did they close schools in DC when DC had boil water advisories? Does a boil weather advisory always mean closing schools?

What say you DCUM?

Please wear deodorant if you don't or didn't.

Navy shower! Try it every time you shower.
Take a bath occasionally for relaxation etc.

What is a Navy shower? Is it similar to a whore's bath?

1. Why didn't they blast communications to all those customers?? Why do all these agencies seem to need a 101 on mass communications? Who is going to visit their website to see if there's ever an alert

2. Aren't our bills mostly going to admin and "infrastructure" fees? Look at your last bill, a chunk at least if not more.

3. Talk to a dermatologist about proper skin care which could help you figure out how and when to clean yourself.

Are you signed up for alerts because both of us in our household have gotten texts from WSSC.

Not everyone signs up for alerts from A-Z companies, to be flooded by alerts. It is the responsibility of those companies probiding essential services to contact ALL customers, not those who have chosen to sign up for an alert. It is basic communications 101.

Basic communications 101 is they get the news out thru multiple channels— tell the news media, text people who have consented to be texted, etc.

Are you suggesting that it is their responsibility to knock on every door in MoCo and PG county to deliver personal notices? Or perhaps drive loudspeaker trucks around? Or Fedex letters?

I took a very short shower, but I, not sure I understand the goal here.

Just try to use a bit less. If everyone did that, we'd be in good shape

Did you bother to look at the advisory? It specifically says take SHORT showers. But by all means wait until you have to boil water and broken pipes risk fire response. I mean what ar the odds it’s YOUR house. It’s not like you’re part of a community, right? All that matters is your individual comfort Following guidelines to avert damage and crises is not freaking out. It’s the sensible, responsible thing to do.

Did you bother asking what that "usual length" is? Moron. There are people out there who understand the meaning of resources, have lived through similar situations and can take "short" showers, whatever "short" is. This forum's UMs should try getting out of their screens and websites once in a while.

Yes, it’s definitely dumb not to assume that someone taking their usual shower is actually taking a very short shower because they have lived thru past water shortages.

What is with the aggression on this thread today?

If anything you should take some extras showers so that you have a few in the bank.

Yep, every single damn door until everyone affected knows!

Which uses more water: hand washing dishes or running dishwasher (not today, but will need to tomorrow)?

If they keep schools open and point is to conserve water, do the female students and staff who may be menstruating flush after they use the toilet? It probably doesn't say don't wash hands in this conservation effort. Not having access to soap at facilities is another topic, one that this moderator decided to delete a thread. It is true that there is not always soap in public facility bathrooms.

You don't need to go to another country to experience this..all this is happening and has happened in the great US of A!
