MoCo essential water advisory. Standing here debating if I’d be a horrible person if I take my shower anyway…
What say you DCUM? |
| There's plenty of snow outside- no need to waste a shower. |
| They said you could take short showers. I plan to take a short shower. Held off on laundry, dishwasher, etc today |
|
You can use baby wipes for your stinky bits if you're a water hero, or take a 5 min shower if you're not.
Not judging. The county and WSSC should really not have let it come to this. Water main replacements were needed years ago. Customers should do their part to avoid a boil water advisory, but also should not bear the brunt of water mismanagement. |
| I’m in MoCo and didn’t get a warning. Is this county wide? |
Yes and they keep raising our rates too.. for worse service? |
Yea it’s county wide. They’re worried more pipes are going to burst and we’ll all have to go on a boil water advisory |

Immediate Conservation Efforts Could Avoid a Boil Water Advisory, Help Preserve Water for Fire Protection and Increase System Storage
Until further notice, all customers are being urged to: Use water only as necessary – i.e., take shorter showers and quickly turn off faucets immediately after use. Limit flushing toilets (do not flush after every use). Limit using washing machines and dishwashers. Take a navy shower |
I’d be frantically doing all the laundry and dishes and showering to prepare for the worst. We could go two weeks without laundry faculties if I had just done it all. |
Your comment should be used as an exemplar when trying to teach the tragedy of the commons to economics students… |
| No, it's just helpful to take a much shorter shower right now. |
I live in Rockville. I do not pay WSSC for water. Am I included? |
| I have no communication about this. |
| Your good. Snow cover is a good fire break. |
