Do most UVA choose UVA over privates?

I’m from the Northeast so New England privates were very popular as well as NYU for kids not quite Ivy material.

If you live in the Commonwealth, yes UVA over a private is a no-brainer.

People outside VA aren't clamoring to go to UVA.

Yes they are, idiot. Last year there were 51k OOS and international applicants versus 15k in state.

I've noticed UVA people are often very angry people.

UVA's OOS yield is comparable to GMU's.

I point out your idiocy more in sorrow than in anger.

And I'm also sorry that you don't understand that entirely different types of students apply to GMU versus UVA.

Never contested the difference in students? How are you coming up with this lunacy? The peerage of these two schools is most evident in their yields. Their student bodies are somewhat different.

If you think GMU and UVA are "peer institutions" because of their yield, you are too stupid to be in this conversation.

3.4 GPA community college students? ✅
25k+ students? ✅
Public? ✅
16% yield rates? ✅
Semi urban campuses? ✅

Seem like peers to me

You’re ignoring cost with this question.

Guess what? The yield rate for privates ISNT 100 percent out of state. Every college in the country including privates enroll a disproportionate number of its student from in state.

No in-state tuition benefits driving high yield for privates, fool.

That’s not what you said, though. And it’s also not true. Many top private colleges incentivize in state students to enroll through scholarships and grants offered only to in state students.

That's absolutely what I said. Which "top privates"? Not ivies. Crummy public schools can't be compared to top privates, sorry.

Of course there is no actual recourse when you are faced with facts and truth.

The yield rate at UVA is only as high as it is because of ED. Before that, its yield was even lower.

Your interpretation of "facts and truth" is stupid. You are incapable of making valid comparisons. You're just embarrassing yourself.

This can be said about many selective schools that offer ED. Try again.

Your understanding of the word "interpretation" is shaky at best. No interpreting, extrapolating, deducing, on my part. I showed the truth and you had no substantive response. Sad.

UVA was the bottom of the list for my in state kids. One of mine is there but it wasn’t even in their top 5. My other two (twins) have no desire to go there but applied because OOS acceptances to their OOS competitive schools is hard this year.

My kids also wanted to explore as well , but both went to UVA. Now one works in New York City and the other in London. Glad they were smart enough to realize that college was just the start and went somewhere that was less expensive and would open up lots of opportunities.

If those are the only metrics then sure. But we all know they are not.
