College and University Discussion
13:46 refers to UVA as a public Ivy, not an Ivy. |
There are no public ivies, only private ivies |
That is a different debate. It doesn’t look like anyone claimed UVA is in the Ivy League on this thread. |
One and the same, UVa is cannot b an ivy because there are no public ivies |
|
This is not a new term btw….public ivy. Very different than traditional ivy, which no one claimed it was.

I’m not having that debate with you. Obviously public Ivy is a real term, but you don’t have to like it. |
Okay, great. I agree that UVa should be grouped in with Penn State, Iowa, Arizona, etc. Glad this was the original claim. Much more sensible. |
Yes….and if an in state student had the opportunity to go there and save over 50K plus a year rather than going to a traditional ivy, that sounds like a smart choice as well. Which is all that original post was stating btw… |
Save the extrapolation, happy that you know UVa's peers are Arizona et al |
DP. These are all top flagships. Very strong peers. Top peers. |
I bet. Iowa, UVa, Penn State grads are right up there w Harvard, Yale, Princeton. Common knowledge. Why even say it? |
What’s the difference? |
Not much, right? |
