OOS Yield by school:
CNU: 7.5% ODU: 8.5% JMU: 10.3% GMU: 15.7% VT: 15.7% UVA: 16.3% W&M: 21.0% Richmond: 23.5% W&L: 43.2% |
Two children are attending UVA and BU. For one child, UVA was the top choice, but for the other, it wasn’t. Each child has a different personality, and I believe they have found schools that suit them. UVA is good, but it definitely lacks something compared to Boston. The third child wants to attend UVA, which is fine. We are encouraging him to go out of state, but we are not forcing him. |
Richmond and W&L are privates, so I get that. I'm surprised by the W&M vs UVA OOS yield. |
Why would them being privates increase yield? |
Actually according to the data on their website it is 58%, and yes I think that is pretty good knowing the choices these students are presented with. |
Typical of UVA students and faculty, this is false. 55%. |
|
Lol…either way not much difference. Same theme….i think we can all agree more than half of in state acceptances are choosing UVA and many of these students are getting multiple offers from high ranking schools so yeah I’d say it’s still pretty good. |
You again. Good grief. |
| They choose UVA because it's cheap! |
This is complete BS. No school has 20% of the class going to UVA or a 40-45% acceptance rate. |
Absolutely! It’s a no brainer…can’t beat it. |
Yes they are, idiot. Last year there were 51k OOS and international applicants versus 15k in state. |
OOS applicants are likely to receive better financial aid from private schools than UVA/W&M. |
I've noticed UVA people are often very angry people. UVA's OOS yield is comparable to GMU's. |
