Vance Toured Stone Ridge

This area is very liberal and schools only get a boost from president/vp kids attending when they are dems. Baron did nothing for St. Andrews. It’s still not considered a top school.

It's still a "get" for any school

Aww, it’s cute that you thought this was some kind of meaningful clapback.

Given that the regular school starts at age 3 it doesn't seem impossible.

I'm still guessing they are looking for both the younger kids, and are considering Mater Dei for the oldest.

Am I mistaken that SR is in Bethesda and the Vances live in Del Ray? That’s an awful commute. Is there any speculation they would move? Maybe this wasn’t a perspective family tour?

Are you joking? Speculation they would move? No they’re just going to stay in their little bungalow in DR and commute to nw from there? Of course they’ll move to observatory circle

I’m mostly worried about the traffic sh-t show every time they go to an event at the school and had to go up Wisconsin to SR. I remember the Obama girls sometimes had basketball games there and it was a huge traffic nightmare whenever it happened with hem shutting down Wisconsin for the motorcade. Parents go to events at preschools a lot — if I were them I’d try to find something closer to their new home.

A get?!? In this area it’s more like a gotcha! The Vance’s will only tarnish SR’s already middling brand.

Isn’t it great if their kids went to a super liberal school? Kids don’t always share their parents’ political beliefs, and I think mass exposure to different values from a young age would be wonderful.

Usha would be the one dealing with most of it as far as events there and she’s lovely and would fit in fine.

The Father's Club is very active and I can just imagine what field day and the blue/gold competitions would look like when the fathers all descend on campus.

I welcome Vance! SR has become too liberal, but lately they are working hard to return to its Catholic roots. Vance will only help continue move the school in that direction.

Would SR have to let current and prospective families know? Right now SR is are first choice but I worry this might cause decisiveness within the community which can change dynamics.

What grade? If a younger grade, perhaps you should pass if you are concerned. I don't think this will impact the middle or high school.

My kids’ school plays Sidwell and whenever we had games that the Obama girls played in it was NOT a traffic nightmare. There wasn’t a big motorcade for the kids. So please stop.
