Most of us are not involved in day to day events, but there are times when community feedback is requested and parents weigh in. Conversations with other families at events formal or informal are not generally (thank goodness) political in nature, but it’s nice when people bring different perspectives and experiences to the table. I don’t think the Vance family coming to SR will have a profound impact but getting to know people who are different than you—by whatever measure—is important. You won’t interact with these people at all when their kids land at your school. *maybe* you’ll see them at the big events like a holiday performance and their kid participates and they’ll be swanned in with security, watch only their child’s section of the event and then swanned out. You won’t get to sit next to them or talk to them.

They won’t be planning party book events or setting up/breaking down teacher appreciation lunch so calm down.

I see the celebs at:
1. Open House night (when all parents should be in attendance)
2. During performances (mid-big names stay for the whole thing, mega mega names swan in and out after their kid is on stage)

You won’t have to interact with the Vance’s so who cares?

There are some interesting VERY VERY well known parents at DC’s school that I would have zero interest in interacting with but I’m not pulling DC out of school.
