Given that the regular school starts at age 3 it doesn't seem impossible.

I'm still guessing they are looking for both the younger kids, and are considering Mater Dei for the oldest.

Am I mistaken that SR is in Bethesda and the Vances live in Del Ray? That’s an awful commute. Is there any speculation they would move? Maybe this wasn’t a perspective family tour?

Uh? The Vances will be moving to the VP’s residence.

MAGAs are so openminded & inclusive.

It’s a Catholic school, nominally, that celebrates a sinful lifestyle, at least if you are Catholic.

The above is false.

And hilarious. At least, if you are Catholic.

This is false. My daughter is in the HS and beyond the pride club, there is nothing beyond that which throws LGBTQ culture in your face. They are tolerant, but not in any way promoting the lifestyle.

This area is very liberal and schools only get a boost from president/vp kids attending when they are dems. Baron did nothing for St. Andrews. It’s still not considered a top school.

I welcome Vance! SR has become too liberal, but lately they are working hard to return to its Catholic roots. Vance will only help continue move the school in that direction.

i went though this with a grandchild of trump. memory is a bit hazy but from what i remember this is treated as a confidentiality and security issue. they will say nothing to prospective families and make somewhat oblique references to current parents. our school did invite us to raise questions on a one on one basis with administration but even when i did that i don’t recall learning anything super specific.

in all honesty, SS officers assigned to kids’ details are AMAZING and it really was not a “nightmare” at all.

SR preschool, Mater Dei then Georgetown Prep makes sense for them. Harder for a girl but my bet is on Blessed Sacrament. There is no Mater Dei equivalent for girls.

Stone Ridge has always catered to affluent Catholics who skew conservative. Always.

Are you new to the area, op? Where did you grow up, go to school, etc. and how old are you.

Signed,

Lifelong Gen X MoCo resident with tons of generational experience with area catholic schools including SR

PS - I’m super liberal, but it’s easy to recognize the general conservatism throughout SR and other privates.

Holy Redeemer, BS, or St. E’s.

Then oakcrest or the heights for ultra conservative types.

Stone Ridge has really admitted some polarizing families in the last 1-5 years! Their Upper school is having major issues. Ask any parent in grade 9 and above about their experience.

We were at an elementary school with one of the 9th grade families and the parents literally bullied other parents and kids at our school! SR is a good enough school they should be able to be more selective.

Well, my guess is the left leaning families were at one point polorizing. Be tolerant if you would like others to be the same.

Not necessarily politically polarizing....just polarizing.....not inclusive, lots of parent social engineering....that sort of thing...
