Did you really think Kamala would win? Deep down inside, did you?

See, people like you are who I can't stand. So you'll vote for anyone who is black and female. Over any one better, good or a black female who sucks simply based on DEI. That's basically what you said.

Cause she sucked. In so many ways she sucked. She couldn't win this election. She had money, support and was the incumbent and she lost so big. You really think she's all that???!?!!?? Her job was to win and she failed. How good could she possibly be?? People like you think because you like someone, they must be the best, no matter what results show. You think because she represents you or is DEI, she automatically deserves to win and can't possibly be bad. People like you are idiots.

Clearly you're uneducated about politics and current events. All incumbents lost in developed countries. And she still fared batter than all of them and lost narrowly. "It's the economy, stupid"

Forgot to add especially after Trump's extra wacky behavior, like lying about migrants eating Fido and the Republicans calling entire countries garbage, stuff like that. And all the legal stuff happening against Trump.

That vision is now dead and my eyes are wide open. America is not the beacon of democracy, freedom and righteousness that I thought it was but that's on me for being an idealist. It's just like all the other countries, neither here not there, but no definitely not exceptional.

This x10000. I’m GenX and remember learning about the rise of Hitler in Germany. Even though our teacher told us if you don’t carefully learn history you are doomed to repeat it, we didn’t really believe it. We couldn’t understand how everyday Germans voted for Hitler, stood by while their neighbors families and children were rounded up, thrown in trucks and sent to camps, or how the disabled and homosexuals were imprisoned or shot. We all thought that would never happen in America. We are a beacon of freedom, a nation of laws that protect minorities, we are exceptional.
We are not.

I am deeply ashamed of our country.

Agreed.

You are shocked that women can choose someone based on their policy, vs blindly voting for someone like them? So, you would vote for Margaret Thatcher?

What policy exactly benefits women under Trump?

Leutenant governor of Virginia would like a word.

Yes. I thought decency would prevail. That such a vile, immoral human and FELON would not be elected. Whatever people think of Kamala, he is far, far worse.

It did not.

I was very worried based on the polls. I really didn't want Trump to win, but I certainly believed it was possible and not unlikely.

When the DNC tried to appoint her to the presidency, game over. No one heard of her during the Biden presidency, then suddenly she was the person behind every thing he did. Even the Democrats had to be leery of her being in charge of the most powerful country in the world. Many women can be president, but Harris does not have the chops.

Will you say the same about Vance? 🤔

Vance was not appointed to the VP post because she was the only black women who had been in the primary race and Biden committed to the BLM that he would make a black woman his VP. The pool was pretty narrow. Vance became Trump's VP pick after serious vetting of many candidates that intensified when it was down to three people. Do you think Trump made a double secret promised to either the hillbillies or Yale law school grads to appoint one of their own as his VP?

I’m GenX and was sad to see the majority of us vote for Trump for that reason and also because I thought we were the live and let live generation, but I guess our jadedness turned. Really bummed about it.

You should be ashamed your country because it gave you a very poor education that did not provide you with the critical thinking skills to understand Nazism and the German people.

Same. I completely underestimated the indifference and moral apathy of voters outside of my bubble. Honestly, I'm still in disbelief.

NP. Absolutely not, and I’ve been banging my head against the wall here on DCUM saying exactly that for months. I’m a moderate Democrat who voted for Harris but it was crystal clear to me she was not going to win. I’m actually quite angry about how right I was. If I could see how overwhelmingly she was going to lose, why couldn’t party leaders? I’m a nobody!

I am scared and worried for the future, but part of me is hopeful that this will finally cause the Democrats to grab control of the party back from its crazy wing. I just hope too many people don’t get hurt first.

Removing illegals from the United States.

I hoped but my immediate reaction when the nomination shifted to her was that America won't elect a woman, much less a woman of color. Sorry, but Dems have to run men for the foreseeable future.

I was genuinaly surprised. But I always underestimate Trump support. I really don't understand his appeal. But going through the postmortems, I can understand why Democrats lost. And Biden totally screwed over the country with his decision to run for reelection.
