Harris Ad on Survivor on Rape

Anonymous
OP, since you’re unfamiliar, you should know that sometimes adult themes are discussed on Survivor. Common Sense Media rates it as appropriate for ages 11+.

You could have switched channels or muted tv. Reproductive freedom is a major issue in this election.

I guess that's why for the first time in four years the Fed cut interest rates today. Open link and read it and weep.

Survivor is a family show?

Survivor is about backstabbing your team mates til you win. Not something I would watch with a 7 year old, so not sure how you're tender sensibilities are so ruffled from hearing from a rape victim.

She did nothing wrong. We used to watch this as a family years ago. OP already explained it was a one off event. # teamOP

what time was the show?

My 7 yo was in bed at 8, so there wasn’t a conflict.

My DD is usually in bed by 8, asleep by 9. I thought the show would end at 9. I thought it was a 1 hour show.

It is the only live show we have ever watched together. We have football on live on weekends but she isn’t watching.

OP, you did nothing wrong watching a show with your kids. Other posters are just mean and judgmental.

But I agree that this ad is the reality that we are living in due to extreme GOP. We can’t just wish it away.

You made a comment about caring about babies. Are you talking about the babies who were raped by their parents?

I didn’t make the baby comment. I am pro choice but this is not the issue I am voting on. I did write I don’t like either candidate. I didn’t like Harris when she originally was running for president back in 2020 and I don’t like her now. I’m not sure which candidate I dislike more.

One candidate shoved a woman against a wall and sexually assaulted her and one did not.

I’m voting on economy, immigration and who I think can keep us from WW3. Abortion is not what I’m voting on.

I love when Republicans post as if they’re sober judges or character whose policy concerns are more important than everyone else’s.

The ad is also a reality.

She’s an activist. No one is forcing her to do these ads. By sharing her story she can help other girls and women.

+1 And she already has helped by re-electing the Governor of Kentucky.

Then clearly you are voting for the candidate who helped oversee the massive recovery from COVID, the one who will sign the GOP immigration bill and the one working to end the middle eastern war and keep Russia from attacking NATO, right?

And every economist worth a grain of salt has said that the Harris plan is better for the US.

Just because the show runs over an hour, doesn't mean you have to let your 7 year old stay up to watch it. Where are your priorities, OP?

I think we can all agree that grocery prices are astronomical and housing is unaffordable for too many. But I do think that Harris is plan is better than Trump’s concept.

People have amnesia. they remember how prices were lower during Trump’s years. That is a fact. However, after a global pandemic prices,
have risen and companies have gouged consumers.

We are never going back to pre-pandemic prices, but we can raise the incomes and improve the lives of Americans. I have no doubt that Harris will do her best to do this and I have no doubt that Trump will throw out ridiculous ideas, eh hem, concepts, like blocking food, imports and tariffs.

Not a great response but still a million times better than Kamala’s brilliant plan of government imposed food price controls.
