Ok hope it works out for you. But I know what I'm talking about. Positive Factors maybe? but alot of politics go into those factors. Clubs don't promote players during the process. DIY is the best way to go! |
Who said parents and players don't have to do anything to advocate for themselves in the process? |
Are the scouts friendly with the MLSNext coaches then? I mean it must suck to have your best players essentially poached regularly! |
Why would it suck for the professional academy in your area to want a player you developed, providing you actually developed him? |
The idea of a professional academy showing interest in a player you’ve developed can certainly be seen as a compliment to the work you’ve done. However, it’s important to consider the broader context in which this is happening. In our area, there is a significant gap in terms of support, resources, and qualified staff for true player development at the professional academy level. |
Pls elaborate on syc. I sense this but thought it just my paranoia. I assume Club wants to see their players to go far and help them reach their goals. |
Because they lose their best players and they may not always have a deep team to draw from or rebuild with. |
Also, if that kid makes it pro, the club gets paid. Seems like a good incentive. |
He's a troll, someone with an axe to grind against SYC. If you're MLSNEXT, you're funneling your kids up to Academy, not holding them back. |
| So when would the scouts reach out to players they’re interested in? At the end of the fall season? In the spring? |
Nope. I know two from private school and two from a local public as well as some none academy players. |
From what I've seen, trials show up around April-May. |
I don't understand what you mean by your second paragraph. There is gap between our area and where? What is true player development? Why don't we have resources, support and qualified staff? What's the evidence of that? Aren't there players from our region now playing professionally here and overseas? |
Spoken like someone representing the lack of a true soccer culture. If you're a coach developing youth players to reach their full potential, what is the importance of a deep team? You're developing individuals. If you want to hold a kid back for your own ego to win games, then you're a horrible youth coach |
Really? That seems late. So they hold an invite only tryout? Is that how it works? |
