Honestly, as an outsider to the DCU and professional academy world, this information will mean absolutely nothing to me. But being a rational logical individual, I'll bet the percentage of DCU kids (who want to) going play college soccer is higher than that of all other teams in the DMV. |
I think this is absolutely the case. But it doesn't speak to whether the education received from SAI is a good one, especially since it is fairly new. |

DC United Academy FB page just listed the current college freshman group.
4 are Ivy League from the 2024 class |
These online schools provide just enough education for your kid to graduate hs. They are there for sports, not education. They boast a 100% graduation rate. Take that as you will. |
Education is like soccer. Its more on the kid and parents than the school. Unless the school curriculum is completely out of step. |
There is a recent post (yesterday?) on their IG. |
Thought they provided AP courses as well. So that in itself doesn't make it just enough. |

From a small number of kids, DCU sent 4 players to Ivy League schools
If it turns out these kids were doing the online program, I'll have to temper my criticisms. |
I thought the online requirement only went into effect this current season. That is, those going to Ivy League likely were doing regular schooling. |
The online mandatory requirement is new. Some of the older ones were already doing as optional. All those who were training with Loudon United were doing online. So at least one who went to Ivy 100% did online. |
Do they get the names of players they’re interested in from the coach after a game or do they have access to the rosters for all local MLSNext games? |
Ask those parents if DCU help them with anything with their recruitment. Trust me getting your kid recruited is a DIY project. |
Yes and yes. They will never contact the player, always through the coach first. |
and if you have a crappy coach or is with a crappy league ( like SYC) , they will not help you but would rather hold you back.

Not trusting you because I 100% know better. Being a good player and being at DCU were positive factors, not the only factors. Facts. |
