Alsobrooks vs Hogan

I just don't believe he'll stand up to other Republicans on bad policy. He'll toe the line.

I'm a Dem who I voted for Hogan in his second term. I won't even consider voting for him this time around. Control of the Senate is too important to a Harris Presidency's agenda.

It’s interesting that Jeff Flake is considered “anti-Trump” because he voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. And Kavanaugh voted to overturn Roe v Wade. This is *exactly* what we can expect with Larry Hogan in the senate.

So you don’t care at all what happens to Maryland. Got it.

Alsobrooks will clueless and useless in the Senate. She won’t represent us at all.

Hogan has a proven record and will be the better representative, who knows and cares about Maryland.

I am not sure why you think Alsobrooks would be useless. She has been a better than average County leader.

No junior senator is going to do Jackcrap for their state.

I wish ppl weren’t so stone stupid about what actually happens in the government.

He’s anti-choice. He showed that as a Gov vetoing legislation and blocking funding. That is reason enough for no one to ever vote for him.

I think Hogan had a chance when Biden was on the ticket but not so much now.

I don’t even understand what was so great about him as a governor. He sank the red line and made the purple line worse and directed development towards his properties and wasted billions.

And did he do anything positive for Maryland’s economy or business development and I missed it or something? Or is helping himself enough? This is what passed for governance for Republicans? Is our bar so low? If Trump hadn’t been President Hogan’s shenanigans would have gotten more attention. Never mind the extreme right Republican agenda. No reason to vote for Hogan.

Senators don't really affect their states, moron. A Harris Presidency with a Democratically controlled Senate will do much more for the state of Maryland.

He basically governed as a center right politician and as a check on the worst excesses of the Democratically controlled legislature. As a Senator, he would just have one vote and would probably be to the right of Joe Manchin. I'd rather have a Senator who supports 100% of a Harris administration's appointments, judicial confirmations, and legislation than another roadblock.

That's the ballgame.
Keep the Senate.

Hogan says some great things, and he was a fine Gov. I don't hate him.
But at this point anyone that still claims to be Republican is inherently supporting the MAGA agenda.

There are many people who would gladly vote for Hogan but are reluctant to add another Republican to the Senate with Trump as president. If it looks like Trump will lose, he could be the winner in this race. I prefer Hogan, but I understand the reluctance to add a Republican to the Senate if Trump wins.
Nope!

I don’t think she is clueless but I think Hogan will work to represent the best interests of Maryland.

Why? All senators do is cast votes. You don’t need special experience to do that. JD Vance had no political experience whatsoever, yet no one claimed he was unprepared for the senate.

Also...PG County is huge, diverse, and complex. I would love to know if the poster above thinks that anyone going from county to senate or if they just dont realize they might be having a knee-jerk reaction to PG county like most Marylanders do.
