Do people still eat frozen meals!

Anonymous
I would buy them in a heartbeat if my son and husband would eat them. I will definitely start getting the individual ones once my son goes to college for easy lunch/dinners. I am looking forward to spending significantly less time thinking about and preparing food! I would not eat them every day, but they are great for a quick meal.

The interesting thing about McDonald's food is that it is already shelf-stable. Those fries are practically immortal.

And more on topic, Costco does have an interesting selection of prepared meals, including some frozen. I could make lasagna, but Costco's frozen lasagna heats and cooks in 40 minutes. Make a slice or two of garlic bread from their fresh sourdough, and that's pretty good.

The people who eat frozen meals cower before the superior humans (are they in fact demigods?) who never do.

They wish, with every shaky fiber of their beings, that they could be one-tenth as awesome as you, eating [insert orthorexic choice here]

I hope this made you feel better, OP

My husband lives off of these. The boomer Stouffer's ones -- Salisbury steak, meatloaf, turkey dinner, etc.

Before anyone calls me out for being a horrible spouse, it's what he wants. I wish he wanted real dinner more often, but he doesn't. He wants to be able to microwave it and eat it and it only takes minutes. He says he "doesn't care about food." He's super fit, so I try not to worry about it. He eats no snack food to speak of, only fruit for snacks.

I don't know. Nothing I can do about it.

It's better than most people on this site can cook themselves.

It's not better than what I can cook myself. But it is better than I will cook myself. So. It's better. For me.

Oh god. The richest people I know have this pristine sub-zero freezer with some of these in it. And flour in a ziplock bag.
If they cook at home, this is what they're eating. (Not the flour. I don't know why the flour is there.)

It's aspirational.

Whole-wheat flour goes bad pretty quickly; it lasts longer in the freezer.

I know this because I cook. Unless I'm getting takeout or eating frozen food.

Stouffer’s Mac and Cheese reminds me of big family get togethers when I was a kid and I still like it!

TJ frozen meals are stacked in our chest freezer. We always keep a supply for quick and easy meals after arriving late from the airport, hungry boys between meals, base for building a bigger dish, ex add chickpeas, paneer to chicken tikka masala, etc.

I put flour in the freezer for at least 48h to kill weevil eggs.

Only a few times a year do I have them. I keep a couple in the freezer for nights I have to work late. I do enjoy Stouffer's mac and cheese for childhood memories, as well as Trader Joe's mac and cheese and Amy's burritos or pad thai.
