Also, just because you pay installments, doesn't mean you didn't commit for the full amount when you took the offer. If vindictive enough, they could come after you for the full amount. All these situations are different and there is no one answer, but just throwing that out there so you know. |
Didn't the club also fail to uphold their end of the deal? You accept an offer to play for a team and a specific coach. That's why coach slates are listed before tryouts. It sounds like the coach was a real draw for all three teams and the club knew it , yet he planned on leaving all along if it was announced mid-fall..that's only a month into the season? and it was a real bait and switch. |
Fair points. I'll lay off the vodka before posting next time. Lol. We have futures who never attend 2nd team practice, but get to play the whole game over and over while the 2nd team kids attend all the practices but ride the bench. Its frustrating. |
The clubs I have coached with have always welcomed players back even if they left mid-year. They’re paying customers, and bonus if the player is actually good. I’ve only seen players turned away twice in 15 years. 1- the player had been on a scholarship (paid for everything including tournaments). Left mid year for the clubs main rival without saying a word and then wanted to come back (and still be under scholarship) after the spring. Board said hell no. 2- the player was very good but had real behavior issues. No way would they take him back. He had gotten himself kicked out of the club he had gone to… |
I feel you on that point as well. This just shows lack of discipline and commitment (to the 2nd team) and they probably won't make it to the 1st team as future. If they do, they probably won't play many minutes. Also, this shows the coach isn't consistent with expectations. |
Coach, would you take the player back if the player walked away mid-season and didn't pay in full? Probably not, that's just bad character. |
That is solely on the club/coaches. The players aren't picking and choosing which practices to go to. |
Part of reinstatement is always paying any balances… that being said, I personally don’t have a stake in it. |
