Is Georgia Southern like JMU?

Correct. VT is not selective at all.

Ignorant. Shows you aren't from instate NoVa.

You JMU fappers have been parroting this NoVa line for years. Facts are facts. JMU is a decent second-level state school in the vein of Miami-Ohio or College of Charleston, but nothing more than that. Regardless of where you're from, getting in is the basic expectation, not a lofty achievement.

Again - comparing JMU to Ga Southern

UVA is not very selective if you compare it to the top 40-50 privates.

You're right Georgia Southern, not a fit for everyone though. Can be conservative.

Kennesaw State

Georgia State

It’s very easy to get into. Much easier than JMU.

Let’s not pretend JMU is anywhere close to selective.

Sed headed in that direction.

Huh? JMU has a 75% acceptable rate.

Down to 69% zin 2024. https://www.acceptancerate.com/schools/james-madison-university

plus, with their sports success and moving to being a national university rather than regional, probably bound to go down more.

VT is barely selective. You’re kidding yourself if you think JMU will pass VT.

Nonsense. As recently at 2019 JMU had a lower acceptance rate than VT. Get over yourself.

Prove it

UGA 30,000 undergrads and a 50% in state acceptance rate. The quality of student who just missed UGA is not the same at the kid who just misses UVA

Not the case for Atlanta privates and metro Atlanta top high schools.

You think good students from top Atlanta high schools are going to Georgia Southern? Auburn and Alabama are the safeties, not Georgia Southern

Mostly Auburn and Clemson…

Actually South Carolina is most similar to UGA.

Hi, UVA booster! So predictable - a thread that's not even about UVA makes the UVA boosters mad.

Fascinating thread being from Georgia myself. Southern is a good school, good campus community, most students move to Statesboro to go to the main campus and the commuters drive to the Armstrong campus in Savannah (and those tend to be adult learners or in specific programs).

Post the overall JMU admission rate then post the overall VT admission rate.

why do you idiots bother to post this?
All that matters -for parents here- is selectivity from our high school.
which is much different.

57 at VT. 75 at JMU. JMU doesn’t have a lower acceptance rate.
