| Where do fun, social kids in Georgia go in state that just missed UGA? |
| Really hard to get to from the DMV, from what I remember. |
| They go to Auburn |
Kennesaw |
You're right Georgia Southern, not a fit for everyone though. Can be conservative. Kennesaw State Georgia State |
Which is known for being a party school? Don’t want a commuter school. |
This. Why Georgia, OP? Do you live there? |
+1 |
| It's a very respectable school for respectable kids. Place where kids transfer to after a year at UGA and feeling it's too much. |
Yup, Georgia Southern. Source: live here, unfortunately |

Considering Georgia Southern is ranked #352 and JMU is ranked #124, I would say this is a bizarre comparison. Never even heard of Georgia Southern before this very odd thread.

| Those who just miss Georgia and still want a big school experience (and have the $$) go out of state - schools like Auburn, Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee, Indiana, Wisconson, FSU, etc. I'm not saying Georgia is better than all of those schools, I'm just going off what happened with my DC's friends. Georgia Southern would not be the UGA back up, if a student has other options. Also, based on what I have read here, I don't think Georgia Southern is viewed the same in the state of Georgia as JMU is in Virginia. |
PP again - I guess if a student had to stay in state Georgia Southern, Kennesaw, or Georgia College would be the options. |
| Georgia Southern is very bottom tier. |
+1 Correct. GA Southern has an acceptance rate of about 90%. Kennesaw is only slightly more competitive. Neither is ranked as highly as GA State. |
