| SYC's social media game is on point. Dropping teasers and creating suspense. Practice field sideline chatter. Another club would do a vanilla post the day of the announcement and that would be it. A lesson to us all. Don't be boring. |
It does feel like a banner year for chair shuffling on the DMV youth soccer circuit, doesn't it? |
They seem to be just content to keep the status quo. Some small successes here and there, but not big plans to change, foster Rec players and coaches into travel players and travel coaches. They loose some top players to ECNL clubs, but otherwise, just keep they are in a maintain phase; but they are branching out into LAX, basketball and flag football. Also, lots of financial-aid scholarships. |
Perhaps another sign that they may already be working with STJFCV - the undisputed social media champs in the DMV soccer scene. |
| LMVSC is great for a neighborhood club and for development of the littles, but they don’t have much of a value proposition for competitive players beyond U11. I don’t know if that is by design, or just missing the boat on what’s happening in the youth soccer landscape. |

Don't shame his grassroots license! |
BP is going to VDA, but because of contract restrictions it cant be announced. Its a business, and thats the way businesses run when people change jobs. Yes it sucks for families, but with no announcements from FCV, just read between the lines. Usually by this time of year they are announcing ID sessions and tryouts and they aren't this year. If you don't want to stay with FCV (unknown practice locations and coaches) and you don't want to go to VRSC I'd start hitting some tryouts. |
For those not in the know, what was so bad about it? |
|
That 7v7 certificate will take FCV GA players to the next level! After a couple of practices, they'll be saying, "Bobby who?". |
|
"SYC has all the talent"? All the good talent is leaving SYC. Fall will be a big eye opener for this money hungry organization when their revenue drop just as fast as the players moving to other clubs.
|
this is the opposite of how you want a social media campaign to work. you want suspense or excitement around something like uniforms or tryouts, not league changes, which only creates anxiety. just give me the facts, ma'am. |
SYC social media is not run like a professional setup. |
|
What happens to the National League if SYC and VA revolution go to GA?
Alexandria must be pissed. |
|
I’m sure SYC to GA will have girls from ASA tryout especially with them having lost the GA program a year ago. Especially the 2012 girls who see their path.
ASA loses boys on the younger levels to SYC yearly. In a few years FCV/TSJ girls out of the st james will tryout as well. ASA has lost girls to Union because of the lack of competition as the years go on at ASA. SYC and ASA both have strong 2012 girls programs. |
