SYC to GA

Believing that kids will stay at SYC for GA is delusional. Top SYC talent will still migrate towards ECNL clubs.

Glad this is becoming official for us!

Younger ages don't matter in NoVA lol, Idk why you SYC stans are obsessed with this.

To answer your question, the families who don't care about D1.

Not a "draw," but they exist.

No D1's are watching GA? That's a lie.

Maybe not as many as ECNL but both platforms draw colleges, D1 included, if that's a kids end goal.

It will draw from local clubs, but ECNL is the bigger draw. As much as SYC may pluck the best Alexandria or LMVSC girls, they are going to lose their own top players to ECNL clubs

Not to mention, if a kid wants to play in college, having a mentality going in that it's 'D1 or bust' is ridiculous.

Families who don't care about D1 should not be in ECNL or GA.

Mostly because the environment is so toxic and demanding, why would you want your kid to be in that

What does GA mean?

Girls Academy. It's the last vestige of USA soccer trying to play a role in development. DA, the boy's equivalent, is defunct.

This was the last GA national event https://girlsacademyleague.com/winter-showcase/. Click on Attending Scouts and you'll see all the D1s and P5 coaches that weren't watching. Don't trust what you read here. Find the facts.

I couldnt agree more about BP was the reason they had so many D1 offers. He is well connected. ECNL is where you want to be at least for the next few years. Jumping ship to SYC from and ECNL team when its first getting started is a bad move unless your kid doesn't start currently.

So is Great Falls/Reston replacing SYC in Union? Someone suggested that in another thread.

Would line up in them maintaining a partner club. GFR/Mclean as the new VA Union. Loudoun/Valor being NVA and who else knows if this SYC announcement is actually GA and if it is, will it be solo or a merger.

Does GA or ECNL matter when at U11 or younger? Should you switch before U11?
