What about couples where one person is not working? Or not doing any cleaning/cooking/laundry? Not doing any home repairs? Are you considering that person a juvenile? |
That they still have some growing up to do. |
If someone knows they lack the skills to drive safely, why do they need to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket and get a neuropsych eval or something to get a diagnosis? Just to satisfy you? |
Yes. That is exactly what I am suggesting. |
Does the person know HOW to cook/clean/laundry? If no, then yes I think they are juvenile. |
Imagine if Americans realized the solution to this problem is not for everyone to drive, but to invest in safe, reliable, and efficient public transportation… |
Tbh I think they are losers |
My sister learned to drive with me but never mastered the skills necessary to pass the license test. She also did not have regular access to a car. I only got my license because my college boyfriend let me use his car to practice and pass the test. I think my parents, especially my father, didn't really want his two middle daughters to drive since it would mean extra expense in gas and insurance. I still have anxiety about driving in unfamiliar, busy areas as a result but made sure my kids don't. |
They often have driving anxiety, which gets worse as you age. Best to master driving when you are young. |
Mom!!!! |
Bolded statement is delusional. |
My 22 yo child still doesn’t drive. Too busy in high school to get around to it and we live in DC so they had options. Then college in NYC as well as now living and working there. |
So many trolls in this post.
I don't think about it honestly, but with your question what came to mind is neurodiversity and/or anxiety as being reasons why - outside of living in a large city and not needing to. Or you could be just a sad and awful person and call these folks them "pathetic" and "losers" like some of the nasty troll posters have said. |
LOL. No wonder our country is so screwed up! Unqualified people in every position as far as the eye can see! Self-awareness and knowing one’s limitations is apparently entitled and juvenile according to the DCUM brain trust. |
It doesn't seem juvenile. Usually it would be the female not driving, which would be sexist to say it's juvenile. In one marriage where the man was much older, the woman would drive. In that case, it would seem the opposite of being juvenile. |
