They knew the life they signed up for.

Yes, I know as, no doubt, do they. But one can dream of a world where even royalty get a little grace when someone is experiencing a health crisis.

Wouldn’t you agree, Ms. Obvious?

Nope, apparently that's not the standard over there. She should buck up like others had to do.

+1

She hung on for 10 years waiting to be asked to marry. She knew what she was getting into.

No.

Butt out, you rancid snatch. You aren’t entitled to know anything about their life that they don’t choose to share with you.

Damn. Well aren’t you rabid, as in someone who has rabies!?!

BS. If he didn’t want people to know he was visiting (which…why?) they wouldn’t have released the name of the hospital or done the obvious photo op the first visit.

This was the best guess based on available info on the other thread.

I wonder if this was part of the reason she never had a heavy royal schedule?

Wouldn’t explain William’s light schedule, he’s just slightly ahead of her work-wise.

I think they are using these years to focus more on the kids. Seeing how some of the Royal children have turned out, may not be the worst choice. The kids are likely to be sent to boarding school as well, so not that many years remaining. William and Kate will also never actually retire, and will work until the day they die (basically)….so might as well take more time now and ramp up later. Not that it isn’t a cushy gig in a lot of ways..but I think their overall strategy makes some sense.

The kids excuse is baffling to me. (1) is the actual scientific research that kids need two part-time working parents to turn out well? The world is full of Nobel prize winners and highly successful individuals that don’t grow up that way. Nevermind that if you look at Elizabeth’s father’s generation that’s how they grew up and ended up with a philanderer and two Nazi sympathizers. (2) all we know is that they have a light workload (Kate perhaps rightly so due to health issues) NOT that they’re using the extra time to spend with their kids. Plenty of other things they could be doing like…being ill or seeing mistresses etc.

Deux Moi is trash. They’re still claiming Taylor swift had a “ceremony” with Joe Alwyn. Anyone can submit a “tip”. If someone knew she had those issues it’s a little convenient they decided to share that info now.

This, exactly. It’s a new model for the family, but the paparazzi and newspapers were more deferential in past generations. Modern royal kids may need more support and normalcy. If Will ramps up in their later years, it could just be the new model.

The research may not apply. The average kid in that study isn’t world-famous.

Agree- it’s doubtful that an American gossip account has access to aristocrats in UK, or has a way to vet those types of sources. It’s the best guess most of us have arrived at anyway, nothing ground breaking.

I am a swiftie and think there is definitely something to the ceremony rumors OR the miscarriage rumors. There have been MANY worse rumors and Tree Paine (Taylor's PR) has never before posted from her own twitter account calling out a gossip account like she did with DM. It was definitely out of character for Tree and Taylor so where there's smoke...

Additionally, several other PR folks did a pod talking about how weird it was about what Tree did. They back Deux.

That's you. I wouldn't want my husband there; I'd want him home with the kids.

This. It's scary enough to have mom gone, would be worse to have dad gone for a long while too. Hospitals are no places for kids. My mom was in the hospital over the weekend and I let my kids talk to her on the phone but there was no way I was taking them there to see her, in her condition, which would have been worse for them. She sounded like herself on the phone at least and that was all they needed.

+1. Visit me for an hour or two and then let me rest.

Among the 60 staff members for William and Kate, William hired a personal valet this summer. Like on Downton Abbey. So I’m supposed to believe that the man who gets help dressing and picking out his outfits each day is then hopping in the SUV to do school drop off, or helping with a diorama?

Why is this seen as a negative? The Royal family is a unique situation and something you had to get used to being a part of. As you can see with H and M rushing into marriage when M wasn't ready.
